What do you think of B&Q Kitchens and bathrooms?

We had a b & q kitchen off the shelf & take home in the car very happy with it, just make sure you get everything you need and check it all when you get home if you are not fitting it for a while.0

i had B & Q kitchen. Although i love my pale blue cupboards the delivery was terrible. Lots of bits missing or chipped or broken. One part had to be re-delivered 4 times. I still have a garage full of broken bits that were never collected.
I would avoid using again at all costs as customer support (through ellesmere port) was terrible. I had to make loads of phone calls to get deliveries and they never phoned me back.
I am still waiting for a cupboard support 'thing' to be delivered and kitchen was fitted 3 years ago. Ah well.
Friend also had horror stories of wrong or broken bits arriving and in the end (after 4 months of waiting) had to cancel order and start again.                 :dance:I am finally understanding what money can do for me!0 -

I am one of the ones waiting - I had my main delivery before the fire, but unfortunately the delivery centre mucked up my order twice and failed to deliver me 1 door - I also had 2 other damaged doors and I am currently being told 12 weeks before they will be replaced.
I have purchased one of the B&Q Select kitchens and I have to say it is very good quality. Unfortunately everything is let down by the delivery service and delivery customer service which is not very good at all. Due to the hassle and problems I have had with them I would not recommend anyone to use B&Q at the moment.0 -
I have had 2 B&Q kitchens in the past 5 years and have had hardly no problems, First time we got an extra unit delivered but it wasnt a problem as i gave it to my mam who needed a unit for her kitchen all she had to do was buy the doors. Second kitchen we had justa few problems, i didnt order enough handles and wen i went back to tell them they were going to charge me £10 delivery for 2 handles- in the end i convinced them to deliver them to the store for free and i didnt even pay for them- in the end i changed my mind about the handles and took them all back and got the money back on all even though i hadnt paid for 2 of them. I am more than happy with my kitchen and i was impressed that the delivery van found it as our street isnt even on an A-Z.
I would reccommend them and if you have any problems with getting the wrong stuff they are fine with taking stuff back. The combination of being able to order stuff for delivery but also being able to buy instore worked for me but it really depends on the situation.0 -
B&Q came out very well in a review of kitchens in the Which? consumer magazine.0

Just over a year ago we had a bathroom fitted by a B&Q plumber/tiler. He was a real grafter and very painstaking too. In fact I would employ him privately if I could. The quality is good and the design too has proved to be great. We have been really pleased with it. It was not cheap but it is a pleasure to use the room now.0

I had my kitchen in my last house done by B&Q - had them deliver it and fit it. Few bits too many were delivered but the installation guys arranged for them to be collected so it was no skin off my nose. Aforementioned installation guys were very efficient and professional and did a lovely job of tiling too.
Lived and loved that kitchen for three years before selling the place in January (sniff) and it looked as good as new when I left.
House we're looking to buy now will require a new kitchen, and the plan is to go to B&Q, so they must be doing something right...!0 -
I also cant fault them, I've just had a b&q kitchen installed and it is perfect! Delivery was fine, i ordered before the fire but my kitchen wasnt affected so i got it really quickly. The staff at my local shop were great when I took things back or popped in for extra bits. Delivery was smooth and everything arrived together in mint condition!! 10 out of 10 from me!!
I understand ALOT more than I care to let on

In previous house, bought both kitchen and bathroom from them. No problems. Both of which we collected ourselves.
Garden shed ... now that's another matter

I purchased a full kitchen from B&Q at the end of december, thought i would take advantage of the sale they had on at the time, they had a wide range of kitchens and looked 2 be of really good quality, i paid for it an was given a delivery date of 16th february, so even before the fire there was a big delay on deliveries, my kitchen didnt arrive on the delivery date i was given and afte rtaking a day off work to wait for it i was really annoyed, then a week or so later i recieved a fone call from b&q telling me there had been a fire and i wouldnt be getting my kitchen until the 4th april, i explained i no longer had a kitchen as id already had mine take out ready 2 fit the new 1, and that i had small children and waiting another 2months wasnt acceptable, customer services in B&Q is terrible, 1 person tells u 1 thing, then some other person tell u different u never get thru 2 the same person again, eventually thru some perseverence on my part and numerous complaints n threats to get my money back, they delivered my kitchen....in dribs and drabs, this i didnt mind so much as it mean i no longer had 2 wash dishes in the bath and could actually cook for my kids, the final part of my del;ivery is due on the 31st march, B&Q also delivered me worktops that were to small, not the ones i ordered and i had 2 go out and purchase some more...and send the bill off 2 B&Q so they would reinburse me by cheque, which they did but the cheque wasnt in my name, so ims till waiting 4 that 2 be rectified, but saying that B&Q were suppose 2 pick the useless worktops back up weeks ago and they havent, i got compensation but i would have rather had my kitchen, i will not puchase anything else from B&Q and i actually told them this in a letter of complaint which is being dealt with and some 1 will contact me shortly ..hmmmm
anyway sorry for the rant and the long posting, but in my opinion steer clear.£2 coin savers club = £118
20p saver club = £275.80 :T yippeeeee0
