thanks. Thing is... I have not paid any taxes at all on my ticket:
PAYMENT DETAILS
********40.00 GBP Total Fare
*********0.00 GBP Taxes, Fees & Charges
********19.00 GBP Passenger Fee: CC
********59.00 GBP Total Paid
and aren't taxes compulsory normally ? but surely they need to inform passengers that some money is due at the airport...0 -

No, they pay the compulsory taxes to the govt.
You need to clarify exactly what your friend has paid for. I seriously doubt it was for taxes.Gone ... or have I?0 -

Have just checked - airport check in fee is now 40€ ... coincidence?Gone ... or have I?0 -
Ryanair always pays the right tax to the government, they can't get out of it.
BUT they don't always charge each and every passenger for it directly.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0 -
I had to pay for airport check in when I came back from Salou, I couldn't find a computer with printer so it was my fault. Its not taxes its a charge for checking in at the airport.£100 - £10,0000

Wow, just another reason for me to stear clear of them. So if I am at home and check in, but my printer runs out of ink or their is a glitch in communicating with the PC, I get stung for £40???
All airlines I have ever traveled with allow you to check-in online then print out the boarding pass at the airport FOC. As they say "you pays your money and takes your choice" :eek:The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.0 -

At EMA if you ask nicely they'll print the pass for you. However the OP's friend does not appear to have checked in at all prior to arriving at the airport.Gone ... or have I?0 -

Yes, and if Ryanair cut expenses down even further (you printing the pass at the airport costs time and money!) - flights will get even cheaper.
There's always one that can't follow simple instructions...From Poland...with love.
They are (they're) sitting on the floor.
Their books are lying on the floor.
The books are sitting just there on the floor.0
