    Well, well well!

An update on the original poster!

I have to hold my hands up to 'Downhiller maybe having a point that i was so direct and honest and accurate - cos it seems that post had a curious effect.

The OP suddenly remembered ALL of the details (funny that?), using the very points I made and posted 5 days later elsewhere.

    Draw your own conclusions!

I have read this thread twice now before responding and have also looked back at the history of my replies and it is very surprising indeed to find that there are so many cases where we never hear any more from the poster to advise whether the matter has been resolved or not.

In my case, like many other frequent posters on here......I work very hard all day but still feel that I should just visit to see to see if I can help with any urgent matters and it would be very nice indeed to hear whether the advice was of assistance or not.

Anyway, it's nearly midnight....time for an early night !!!

It would be curious indeed. You, for the work I know you put in, certainly wouldn't deserve it!

    Actually not the case though.

It seems he suddenly woke up. Ok. maybe I put him off with my tone but that was only the reality of the situation. He posted 5 days later on CAG suddenly funnily remembering the things that I had asked about in my supposed contentious post. Whilst, for me, it did not appear he had made an appeal at the appropriate time ( from the info posted) he suddenly decided elsewhere that he had - after being told that it would be good if that was the case. Like I said, draw your own conclusions.

For some daft reason, despite being (unusually IMO) correctly advised on CAG he still seemed to think he had the lesser amount of £146 to pay?

    That's clever. Rather childish though.

I've looked back for what wonderful input you've made to save him from the bailiff and a great risk? can't seem to find any.

If you are finding it funny that he has been advised elsewhere then note that I've also said that his misinterpretation of that advice has not been corrected and he still stands to lose money, possibly unnecessarily. Got a solution to that?

Then there is the new bottom line. If he has used the info and questions in my supposed 'contentious' post to come to his senses then good luck to him. Still rather rude though.

If, on the other hand, he has now used that info to manufacture a story with this miraculous sudden recollection, then he risks criminal prosecution, a criminal record, fine and all of the original bailiff demands plus whatever they choose to add. Clever.

I feel quite able to suggest these as possibilities since he chooses not to clarify.

In the meantime, you apparently have nothing to offer to help him in any way. What exactly do you suggest he does?

I told him the truth: What else would you like me to have done?

Calm yourself. It's not a competition. Taking it far too seriously and monitoring CAG them coming back here to boast.:T

You come across as rude, arrogant & sanctimonious.

    Not exactly endearing qualities.

And for what it's worth, the advice given out on CAG is far more reliable than anything I've seen here...

I'm not in competition and no, not really taking it seriously. Just pointing out that the OP seems to have gone against what many people consider correct netiquette. At the same time possibly putting himself at risk. I've made it clear I'm concerned for him. I thought you partly had a point initially and have said so more than once: You don't seem to notice?

    Boast? Nope, don't get that?

Glad you appreciate it. Those who save a few bob from it seem to. As above, noted but it is curiously effective.

Can't dispute there are some nice members at CAG, as there are here but no the advice is not always accurate. Note the number of cases that actually reach succesful conclusion? Given the new case hit rate it is poor in comparison to others IMO. They do seem to have a new member this week who knows his stuff though 'J'.
As for this fledgling forum, maybe you missed 'Nagga99', 'Jodie114', 'Thomas K', 'BigAlagain' and others.

Moreover, the administration of the CAG site is a subject of some debate elsewhere.

Moving on. i don't doubt you are a well intentioned person so I hope our input can compliment each others' in future. If you choose to pull me up when you feel I am crossing the line with my directness - I have no problem but at least wait and see what happens when someone clearly vulnerable asks for help. You might see a different side.
