    I think CrazyPoshGal is extremely busy these days which is why the first two posts on this thread have not been updated.

    With regards to the free help with weight loss, it is probably best to make an appointment directly with your GP, explain that you want to lose weight, have heard that some areas are offered assistance with losing weight, ie free weightwatchers classes, etc and is anything like this being offered in your area.

    Anyone have any ideas how i can get rid of a generic error / blank page when trying to get on boots.com?

    Im having a nightmare with boots at the minute.

    I ordered a pram - they've cancelled it as it is no longer in stock (letting me keep the triple points) but now i cant get onto boots to order a different style as i have this error.

    princesswoo, sorry to hear they cancelled your order for your pram.

    Have you tried clearing your cache and cookies, this maybe the problem.

    If that doesn't help, try opening boots.com in a different browser, ie firefox googlechrome and see if you are still having same problems.

    Hi all, if any one was thinking of going to Solihull retail park today, dont bother, nothing to be had at all, i walked out empty handed and that really is amazing for me lol.
    You laugh because I'm different......I laugh cause I just farted!

    Alternatively many areas now allow doctors to refer you to weightwatchers free of charge and also local Health and Fitness clubs and Swimming pools at no charge to you, if your BMI is above certain levels for over a certain amount of time(depends on the area etc)

    Combination of Healthy eating supported in a group atmosphere and access to leisure facilities may be a better solution than drugs
    Good advice, i agree, but some times peeps need a kick start with their weight loss.

    So weight loss pills may be some help in the initial stages, a bit like the products that exist to help those who want to stop smoking. You know, patches, tablets, gum etc. If it helps you at the start then hopefully you will able to do the rest on your own. Good luck with the weight loss, let us know how you get on. Think of all those hot men at the gym! Might go myself. :)

    mimi i really hope that your father gets better

    angel 69 the proboard has not allowed me to access it for ages - i pmd liverbird - she did not bother to reply, i tried to re register, it woud not allow to me, i pmd liverbird again - again no reply, seems to me you either fit in or you don't

    Well I don't know much about this other board that you are referring to but with an attitude like this it is no wonder that you weren't wanted to be honest. If it is a private board then none of us have the automatic right to allowed to join like we do on a public board like MSE for example. Like Sarahskint said in her post - we don't know what other priorities in life Liverbird has so we shouldn't automatically assume the worst of her. If that board doesn't want anymore members then so be it - no point in getting ratty about it and posting negative comments. It's not the end of the world, you can still post here!!!!!

    :hello: OFF TOPIC

    Oh goodness, I was not saying anything negative about the pills :) Although in a MSE way, i'd suggest asking your GP for a prescription of the full strength ones(if you BMI is above 28), rather than spending out a high amount :T

    Just mentioned the WW scheme etc as it is also a 'freebie' that is relevant, but did not add any details as I did not want to go on an OT waffle, as I am inclined to do :rotfl:

    The Weight Watchers Referal Scheme is offered by some PCT's through your GP, the rules were for patients with a BMI of over 28 and under 40 with no complications, who had been within that range for 6 months or over(or was it 12-eekkk I forget now), not used Weight Watchers before and it is for 12 sessions, which can be spread to fortnightly. So athough it will not be paid for long term, it certainly gives you the chance to try the service, without worrying about wasting money etc

    The other scheme is either called PACE or the Excercise Referal Scheme depending on the PCT. Most GP's refer though. Often the scheme is used for obesity, but also covers those with non insulin dependant diabetes, hypertension, those recovering from or open to coronary problems, then osteoporosis and back problems. However, when I was at the Health and Fitness club 3yrs ago I had referals from GP's and 'technically' the members did not have one of those issues and it was quite obvious the GP's were using the vouchers for patients who perhaps could benefit from the Lifestyle management plans we offered and the social interaction, so it seems there is scope for referal even if not within the rules? The PACE scheme offers 24 sessions, 2 per week, over 12 weeks. It normaly includes a full Body MOT and Lifestyle management plan and help and advice on using the facilities. The Excercise Referal Scheme was normaly only granted for three months, but I knew of one member that kept getting refered and had been a member at the Club for the year it had been opened. The referal generally includes access to Gym, Swimming, Aerobics and Water Aerobics.

    Sorry to waffle! May be a bit out of date possibly as it is 3 years since I stopped working in the sector. The Weight Watchers info comes from 2 friends who had a referal within the last year, so pretty sure that is still current.

    But I'm sure if your PCT offers the services your GP will know all the information and be able to refer if you are eligible.

    Re Alli - I have bought this with points and it does work. I lost about 6lb in just over a week with no problematic side effects.

    Is there a new Mini Mode booklet out now as the last voucher I used had an expiry of 30/6/09. Would be great if there is a new one out! :D

    It was a leaflet, just the one, stuck on the customer side of an unmanned till :o up to the 28th of August I think. Leaflet had a bounty logo on it too, so really not sure if this is a new mini mode leaflet or just thought, maybe it was from a bounty bag :confused: Wish I knew, I'd love more :D
  • Thanks to the people who posted the Expert glitch instructions. I did it yesterday. I got the sensitive whitening toothpaste ( I had gone for toothpaste) and a heat treatment conditioner. I bought a couple of other things and used a hairy, and gained a hairy.lol.
    I spent £2.50 and saved £17.50.
    I am very happy with this.
    Mimi, sorry to hear your dad is worse. Sending best wishes.

    Well done!!:j I have managed 5lbs this week, I know the first week you will always lose the most, so I am not expectng it to be so drastic each week! However, it does motivate you into continuing with them!

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Goodness, I seem to have provoked a full-time debate on these tablets!
    I was simply answering a question on whether or not you could pay for them with points!!:rotfl: I am so happy that you can btw, as I have more cash in my purse to spend on my other favourite drugs ..........nicotine and caffeine!!!:o
