Hi just a heads up for all you birmingham bootsers. New st station had loads of magnetic fridge frames reduced to £1.25, be careful as its only the 5x7 size , useful to use the 200 points acm voucher if you have one. They also have bragg books (large yellow) reduced to £2.99 and these do work on bogof, voucher bleeped but manager added it on no problems. Hth

    O/T

Hope everyone has had a lovely day, ds1 had his school fair and the weather was great. Was fun watching some of the dads trying to be Ronaldo at "beat the goalie" and some mums were doing a very different rendition of waterloo by abba for the karaoke (sp) , must be the hot weather that brings out the talent lol or even the "Pimms tent" maybe:D... Well have a great evening all

Went to Boots earlier & found the TB Sets (Green - didn't realise it was available on the Blue sets till I just caught up on here!). The male SA looked astonished by the total & said to me "Is that price correct?" (Like I'm gonna say "NO"!! I do feel better reading on here that Head Office know about the mis-price, though!!) I just mumbled that it was reduced AND on 3-4-2. He said "It just came up at £42 first? How much are they each?" I just shrugged! He looked like he was gonna call someone over then changed his mind & let me go. What made it worse was that the alarm sounded as I was going through the exit & I don't know if it was me that set it off. I paused for a second, but decided to carry on, cos I felt like a shoplifter already!! I didn't want someone to check the receipt & decide I couldn't have them after all! I half expected a hand on my shoulder & to be dragged back into the shop!

It probably was you that set it off
, my SA had to swipe it under the counter and I must have looked at her funny as she told me it was a security thing.

    hi suzi

i also can never find any clearance shelves in TCentre or Mcr Arndale - I only found the one at the Arndale recently as i was actually at the Sanctuary stand - i found the vouchers for the mela freebie and got really excited until i saw that they were out of date. boohiss :(

mcr arndale nevr has any of the usuall reductions that we find elsewhere in the country

this was my first there after 4 months as the last time i had been in some of the sas (they were almost like the SAS), were really rude to me and were talking about me, and had not realised I had heard what they were saying, needless to say I complained to one of the managers about them
bargain shopping is the only way to shop :j
  • Afternoon all :D

Have been giving Bootsing a miss lately - first off all we had a lovely three week holiday down in the West Country, then I've been pretty busy at work since we got back. Plus Mr Boots hasn't really done anything to encourage me - the grand total of my Bootsing since the middle of April is one Collection 2000 glitter eyeliner and 3 cans of shaving gel :D Popped into Cambridge Retail Park yesterday - no ltd ed No7 at all, not even a display for it  Quite a few reduced perfumes and aftershaves on clearance, mostly celebrity ones which are not my thing. Popped into Cambridge City Centre today and found loads of the ltd ed No7 stuff...

And I'm not in the slightest bit excited by it...for a start the nail varnish is not much cheaper than the normal polish but is a damn sight smaller, plus I think No7 has done the hot pink nail varnish to death in the past. As for the eyeshadow set - nothing new there really, the colours have been done by No7 so many times before in various sets, and I've got it covered really. So left the store empty handed!

To be honest, as far as I'm concerned a bargain is good, but only if you are going to use it really :D As far as presents are concerned I like to get presents that fit the recipient, rather than making the recipient fit the present just because the present was a bargain :D I love the thrill of a bargain but when things start getting obsessive and other things in life start to suffer because of it (e.g. financially, or time wise, or even relationship wise) then it's time to take a step back.

(Until the next lot of £5 No7 vouchers come around and the autumn ltd ed No7 range is launched, then I'll be back on the merry-go-round :rotfl:)

I haven't been bootsing for months as no money and no space lol But i nipped in today as had heard there was so baby items reduced no luck on that front but i saw the ted baker sets and i was sure i had skim read on here that they were half price and 342. Shelf still said £14 but got them checked and they were £7. So i had the only 3 that were there and got £15 out to pay and the SA said that's £7 please. I must have missed it on here where it said the till also takes of half price of the free one too.

So 3 sets for £7 = a very happy little me. That's all the mens bday presents this year.
:)Mummy to 2 wonderful boys :)

I thought it might have been, though the SA did swipe them under the counter, cos I saw him do it. Unless he missed one, looking at the total on the till like he did!!

    Slightly OT -

There are a couple of Angel Fish products at Home Bargains, including this one & the Heat Protecting Creme (smells of coconut - gorgeous!) for just 99p each.

Thanks for letting me know. I feel better that I'm not missing out then. Shame the vouchers were out of date. And poor you - don't blame you complaining about the SA's - some of them act like you're a criminal or you're stealing their salary or something (Just wondering, do Boots staff get a share of the profits? Perhaps thats why they get so miffed when we find these glitches?!)

Wishing you lots of happy Bootsing in Manchester! Oh, the one on the Trafford Retail Park used to have lots of bargains, but I haven't made it there since just after Xmas. Also, the one on Regent Road (near the big Sainsburys) sometimes has clearance but it moves round the store!

Ted Baker sets - amazing glitch!
They were in stock at Picadilly Circus - loads of them. The SA was everso friendly,

But not the one I encountered today! The SA who actually served me was lovely, but the male next to her, who hadn't a customer to serve, said it was obviously an error, had to be cancelled whilst he checked With Management (obviously after a promotion) and pointed his finger to me, in a Nazi like pose, and said "You Wait There"!!!!

When he eventually appeared after about 15 minutes, during which time I was complaining to the SA about his rudeness, he said that mine could go through but no more, and they were "pulling the display".

I paid my lovely SA who was still apologising for Hitler's rudeness, and then followed him where he was directing minions to remove the whole display.

I told him I thought he had no manners whatsoever, and I was absolutely disgusted the way he had left me waiting, and then didn't even bother to apologise. I added that if something had to be sorted, it should have been done in his time and not mine.

He did at least apologise, and even asked if I wanted to get some more before they were removed from the floor, but I didn't have my Granny Trolley and I also had DGD in tow (Sister Act was fab - again!), but I fear ol' Teddy The Bakerman may be in the stock room for a while.

Also saw the Trooping of the Colour, and had a tear in my eye when the fabulous Red Arrows flew past, with their brilliant red, white and blue smoke!

I was told yesterday that HO are fully aware of this glitch and have said to let it go through. This came from a store manager who was concerned that the price was obviously an error, hence their call to HO.
