Time limit for card payments to be taken?

We booked a hotel through a popular 3rd party travel provider back in December, entered the card details as part of the booking and in confirmation e-mail was advised payment would be taken at hotel.

Our stay was in January in a Swedish hotel, when we arrived they took our booking paperwork but no card details/swipe - at check in or out.

We've just been contacted by the 3rd party provider saying they've realised payment hasn't been taken by them or the hotel and they'll be contacting us to arrange payment.

Obviously we were happy to pay when we booked but just wondering whether they're is any time limit on when they can review as it's now 5 months since we booked and over 3 months since our stay!

I expect they can chase you for an unpaid hotel bill for an unlimited time?
