Whilst we're discussing payments by post.
Can I just chuck a very dodgy thought in here - If I wasn't honest and was paid cash in the post could I not declare it? - how will the tax man know about it ?!?!?!?

Of course my books are very legit but my hubby's always wondered about this when the cash comes.

If the MS company was investigated, they could look into payments they had made and check through that way.

Would be long-winded, but could happen.

Of course, not to any of us :A

Except if they get a list of workers from Abai, which is where the risk is, NOT from you;)

I had a check (with a hologram) envelope opened and resealed. It was no use to them as it had my name and address.

How do you know it was "opened and resealed"?
How do you know this happened after it left the sender's possssion?
How do you know this was someone looking to steal, thinking it was cash?

    Let me summarise:

    • Someone was whinging about other people and infered that we all hate Timmne (or somesuch) - we corrected that poster.
    • I found my red marker pen.
    • Some moron thinks that posties have all the time in the world, and are going to be on the look-out for ABAI payments and will steal them.
    • The RE restaurants that a small number of posters have picked up aren't suitable for [STRIKE]tree huggers[/STRIKE] veggies.

woowowow...I have only been gone 7 hours and I have missed 6 pages of chat! I just managed to read the posts and catch up. Firstly, Timmne, thank you so much for coming back to the forum. I am a regular reader and I cannot believe that someone questioned your contribution!

Secondly, I cannot believe that I missed all those RE jobs! One consoling thing is I am veggie too, so I guess I could not have taken them anyway!

Lastly, TractorGirl, thanks for telling me that Aba-i are felxible with the dates! I have 2 jobs with them now for Saturday! Yippeeee

Thanks Monkey Boy that will save me half hour of trawling the thread instead of doing my tax return ;)

    Edit: Timmne :grinheart

Think we all need a rudey :grouphug:

It's me again asking questions !!!
When applying for jobs on Bare, where the question asks - when can you perform this shop? what do you usually put? do you put the actual date you can do the job or put " before xxxxx date" where xxxx is the date the assignment needs to be completed by?
I'm just asking because I've applied for loads and put the actual date I am willing to do the job but they've all been deleted off my application list - should I try again and put before the due date in as the answer?

    Thanks

I put the date or range of dates that I can do it. I don't think they really take much notice, as my OH put the one specific date that he could do a job for them, and they assigned it to him on 3pm of that day, so he didn't see it until after we had been there. But keep applying, you will probably be offered a job from Bare eventually, and in general they are a good company to work for.

Hi Felix, interesting you should ask that question! I always have put a specific date that I can carry out the job. I have only ever done 2 jobs for them and it was in the dodgiest of areas. I however did not think of putting the date any other way! Any advice on this is gratefully received!
