Starting a new Courior Company

Maybe you could go for the "man with a van" angle - people moving house or wanting to shift heavy loads etc?Happy chappy0

I'm not being funny, but it never ceases to amaze me the way people expect everyone to hand them all the information they need on a plate when they want to start a business.
If you had the drive and commitment necessary to start up a successful business, you wouldn't be on here asking people to give you the information, you'd be getting off your bum and doing the extensive research you need to do all by yourself!0 -
If OP could give an indication of what size company, we could easily give some tips. Worldwide: start with several million quid. National: start with fewer million quid
Local: Be part of the black economy and use the boot of your car0 -
I agree with Katie.
Nava you dont seem to have a clue what you are talking about. We are here to offer help and experience but there are times when it seems pointless and in vain to be brutal about it.
You didnt know how to spell the area of business that you wanted to go into, not the best of starts.
Tom gives you some advice with regard to the marketplace and you show that much interest that you ask him to link you to these companies. There are thousands around, have a look. Get the phone book out, go on Google.
If you think you can set up, launch and run a successful business then you are sadly mistaken. You havent got a clue.
Research and work out your business plan thoroughly before you go for this as at the moment you stand no chance. I set up my own business and got advice off various places but you need to get out and do some work yourself.
Sorry to be a bit blunt but it seems as though you are dreaming at the moment and it could end up being a very expensive dream.0 -

I agree with you, this website is to offer advice, not to do the work for others, and it looks like the OP has lost interest in their own thread.£4988 Lloyds TSB Mastercard

They have probably gone away and set up the biggest courier serive this country has ever seen now!!
I love helping people out, especially when i have been there and done it, as does everyone on here, but when they cant even be bothered to google the business area they are interested in you have to think is it worth it.0 -

Maybe it was TNT, or DHL or someone similar wanting us to name local courier companies so they can stamp on them and drive them out of business... I too love offering advice, but like you say, when I've had an idea one of my first visits is to check out google... its very rewarding though when you've got someone whose gone to every length to research and just want to sound the idea out or run it past others for pitfalls they might have missed by becoming too involved in their project....£4988 Lloyds TSB Mastercard

Have to agree as well - and usually my first advice is to try Business Link (or Business Eye in Wales) - the number of times that is mentioned and people don't even read other threads on the Boards. This seems to be popping up a lot more on threads ' can anyone help me' - well try looking yourself first then :rolleyes:Gwlad heb iaith, gwlad heb galon0

I see you have started another thread on a similar question (and seem to be using 2 id's) . It might be worth asking the Board Guide to merge both those threads for ease of use as I think some of the answers on this thread might apply to your other question.
