New mobile contract

I'm after a new contract mobile phone.

I'd like either:

e71, x1 Xperia, Touch HD, Magic, 5800

Anyone have any of the phones?

I like the E71 offer on 3 but its on 3 so couldn't risk being on that dreadful network.

I'll obviously need the data included. I'm not a texter but need minutes.

Anyone help?

E71 is possibly the best phone I have ever had.

For every unhappy customer on Three there are thousands of happy ones, same as any other network. Recently there have been just as many complaints about o2 and Vodafone on this site.

Have to agree. I'm quite happy with 3 (free roaming in ROI). My only problem is the retention deal they are (not) offering me.

    The touch HD looks great.
I'm sure it's exclusive to Orange though i21-16.jpg

2 with qwerty keyboard, 3 without then, win mob, symbian and android platforms. Hell of a mix!! I'd narrow down what it is your looking for first and then pick similar phones.

do you want a qwerty or are you happy with a touchscreen?
do you need win mob and it's apps or doesn't it matter?
Why the touch HD when the diamond 2 is about to be released and includes a free win mob 6.5 upgrade?
why the data - email or browsing??????

The diamond 2 and touch HD are the same phone, just with different screen sizes (infact so is the Touch Pro 2). Same processor, memory etc. (I suspect it will be upgradable unofficially to 6.5 if you want it by reading XDA developers website.)

If you do some digging around you can get them around the £35 per month including data but I haven't managed to get data included for any less. Let me know if you do as I have been looking for the past week!

    Here's the one I found http://www.mobilephonesdirect.co.uk/Brands/HTC/b509/n443/p3185.aspx?lpsrc=google&lpcat=HTCTouchHD&lpgrp=HTCTouchHDPhrase&lptxt=HTC4&lpkey=htc%20touch%20hd&gclid=CIOD8trQqJoCFYU-3godBG9m3A

That looks like a good deal, are they a good/reputable company?

    Thanks,

No argument with you on the processor etc however the diamond 2 comes with new version of touchflo3d and because the screen is slightly smaller the 800x400 resolution will actually be sharper than the HD!!! The HD's hardware keys are flat and the diamonds raised which from an operational perspective means you don't have to always look at what your about to press as you can feel the key. The diamond is smaller and as such feels more like a phone than a pda (the HD is massive after all). Also home button is replaced with a start button (finally!!). I appreciate a lot of what comes on the diamond2 can be tweaked via xda-devs for the HD (i've used this site since owning my first htc universal many years ago) however for a lot of people tweaking their phone is mind boggling.

mobiles.co.uk look like they're doing some good deals on the diamond2

To be honest i've been searching for about 2 days, i keep reading reviews of phones and changing my mind.

I would like a phone that i can browse the internet and get my email (via hotmail and gmail) through. A decenntish camera would also be a help.

I also don't want to pay the earth for it!Vodaphone have the latest android phone for £30 a month

The e71 seems a good phone and the deal on 3 is unbeatable, for £20 a month i'd get 200 mins, unlimited web and texts. My only concerns are that its an 18 month contract and i've only ever had 12 month deals and that it is on 3 network.
