o2 contract finished (x2) - still in contract?
About a year ago I finished a 12month o2 contract @ £35. On the 13th month a £35 payment was still taken out, o2 advised that this was because it is a "12 month minimum" contract and to advise in writing if wanted to cancel.
I opted to go to £5 / month after threating to leave (I dont make many calls). I thought that this was ongoing and wouldnt change.
12 months later and the bill has gone up to £25 / month with no new phone and only 75 mins calls allowance each month
I queried this with o2 retentions, I advised that I thought that the £5 was indefinite and shouldnt change, but they said it was only for 12 months and not on-going.
I was offered to go back to the £5 / month no problems, but there is nothing they can do about the £25 that was taken.
After hanging up the phone to think about it, surely they cant have it both ways, either I am right in thinking it was ongoing, or they are right in that after 12 months I am no longer in contract with o2 (and therefore not in contract with them).

Sounds like they offered you a 12 month reduction on the £25 to £5. At the end of the term (12 months) the original acc would cut back in.0

I know that whats they are going to say.
Its confusing that it starts off at £35 then down to £5 (£35 - £30 discount) then up to £25, then with a £10 discount it could be down to £5 again for the next 24 months.
And the o2 spiel that they gave me today advised that it would lock me into another 24 months - it didnt mention reverting back to an older contract at the end0 -
No you're not in contract with them, the subscription discount (unless otherwise stated) is for the term of the contract, if the contract term is 12m then you're not going to carry on getting it and o2 don't have to refund any of it back.Work like you don't need money,Love like you've never been hurt,And dance like no one's watchingSave the cheerleader, save the world!0
