Just called the Plymouth (Lee Mill) store to book and they said they have not heard about this offer. The is also no information about it on the Tesco website, so does anyone have any idea how can I prove to them that it is genuine and get the free eye test? All advice welcome. Thanks.
Following up on my earlier post, I booked an eye test and when I got to the store there was a big sign saying "Free eye tests today". The optician wasn't wearing glasses so I am not sure how he didn't know about this earlier!
I must say that the quality of the test was, in my opinion, quite poor. It took about 4 minutes from start to finish and was nowhere near as comprehensive as my last test in Boots about a year ago. I guess that as this was free it was fine but there is no way I would have paid the standard price of £10 for this test.
My eyes were declared "perfect" but if a problem had been identified I would definitely have sought a second opinion (paid for) elsewhere.0 -

4 mins eyetest!!:eek: a test should be 20 mins minimum!!!
if i want an eyetest i will go to an optometry practice - if i want food i will go to a supermarket!!
jack of all or what?Dogs return to eat their vomit, just as fools repeat their foolishness. There is no more hope for a fool than for someone who says, "i am really clever!"0 -
Brilliant. I've never had my eyes tested and I've just been doing some particular work for the last 4-5 weeks that has really knobbled my eye sight for the first time ever. I can't see a thing before about 10am because it's all so fuzzy0

They just want your details for their data base. They weren't interested in my eyes0

Thank you, I called Surrey Keys Tesco and they booked me for tomorrow. They asked a lot of questions for their database and at the end of the conversation I said I did not want my details passed on or to receive any unsolicited calls or mail, and they said that they won't pass the details.
Great, I really need an eye test!
CaterinaFinally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0
