The R4 comes with a little MicroSD key which plugs into your pc's USB port that's where you put your SD card when you want to put games on it.
The games come compressed so you need Winrar to extract them, just takes a few seconds. Once the game is extracted you'll find a file with this extension .nds For example TheSims2.nds, that's the file you need to put on your SD card. Drag and drop or copy and paste it into the folder.
You may need to update your R4 so you can play the latest games which you can do here: The latest update is R4 V1.19 New Kernel

When you get it, if you're stuck just PM me.0 -
Ooh I forgot to say you can watch movies and listen to songs on your DS when you use the R4 or equivalent cards. Happy Days!
Brilliant! Could do with something similar for my boyfriends PSP aswell, that way I won't have to talk to him for the entire flightIs there something like that available?
Was going to get a 4gb SD card, will a 2gb be adequate, especially if I'm going to start putting movies and music on it.0 -

Lol. Sorry but I have no idea how the PSP works so can't help you there. I only know about the R4. I'd get a 4gb card if you're going to put movies on there, obviously the picture quality is going to be limited but it's good enough to watch to fill the time. You can't just put films on it as they are you need to convert them. I don't do it anymore but if you google it there's tons of websites telling you how and what you need.0 -

I'll have to do a bit of investigating and see how much messing about it is, we do have a portable dvd player anyway, and we've got back seat TVs on the plane.
Will have a look for a cheap 4gb card.
Thanks so much for all your help, may need it again in a couple of weeks time when the EDGE card arrives0 -
Just so you know....pretty much all R4 cards you buy now are fakes/clones. They stopped making the original ones a couple of years ago. Not that this is a problem.
I had an original R4 and a 2 GB micro SD card. Sold it on as I wanted a bigger SD card. Bought a fake R4 and a 8 GB micro SD card and its perfectly fine.:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0 -
ok i just wanted to say about the stylus, it should actually come with 2. please don't think i'm calling you thick but did you know there is 1 actually in the console? You slide it out of the back. The reason I ask is because my Dad borrowed my sisters & didn't realise til I went round.
As for games, I'm scarily addicted to solitaire lol so would highly recommend that, been debating scrabble but I don't know if I should lol. I love the game.
Hugs

Deal extreme is a great site for buying DS accessories. I use them quite alot. I have got from them some over sized stylus (more like a biro pen size than the fiddly small ones you get with the DS) an in car charger for when on long journeys and some headphones. They also have FREE shipping on pretty much everything.....if not everything.
If you go over the customs limit (which is £18 I think) then its best to make a couple of orders so you don't get the charges.
For example.....if you don't mind the colour of the stylus not matching your DS they have a pack of 8 for $1.77. http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.21878
These are the stylus I have (were much cheaper when I got mine) but still a good price for 10. http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.12585
Game have a couple of good deals for sturdy aluminium cases http://www.game.co.uk/search.aspx?s=aluminium&platform=11218&sort=itemOrderasc
I have the pink one and they are very good.:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0 -
Deal extreme can sometimes be very slow.
nds-cards.co.uk are uk based and are very quick with delivery.0 -
I'm thinking I'm going to lose my stylus any minute (can't belive you only get one!) so definetley need a few of those.
You can get the stylus from ebay, they're 3 for 1p from Hong Kong. My kids are always losing theirs so I've bought quite a few and they always arrive after about a week.0
