Mobile Signal Boosting??!!

Hi there
Just had a conversation last night with Orange and am pretty disappointed. I'm just about to move to a rented house and basically there is no mobile signal in there for my handset (Sony Ericsson k750i)... my wife, who's also on Orange, gets a couple of bars with her Motorola Pebl (U6).
Orange just say 'too bad' and 'get another handset'. They said that the Sony Ericssons are notorious for having the worst antennas, whilst Motorola have the best.
So, given I'm in contract, so will have to 'lose' significantly if I can't resolve this situation... has ANYONE got any suggestions that may help (apart from the obvious - bite the bullet and either get a new handset, or a new operator)??
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You will just have to get a better phone with a better signal in your area or pay off your contract and move to a different network who has good coverage in your area.
It isn't Orange's fault that you moved though, they will be able to help with a better phone or move you to a different network, but just because you moved doesn't mean they will give you a free handset or let you cancel with no shortfall to pay.
Good luck with it. Smile, you only get one life, LIVE IT.0 -
Is there any website or places to get information on signal performance of different handsets?0

I realise that it's not Orange's fault, although I found their attitude a tad ungrateful... particularly as the place we're renting is in the middle of a small town.
However I was looking for potential solutions as an alternative to new phone / new provider.CarQuake / Ergo Digital0 -
Well is there an o2 signal at all? If so CPW is doing a great deal on the nokia 6230i so you could either pop the o2 sim in your k750i or use the 6230i (whichever you don't use just sell and make a profit!!)
