Hotel At LHR Terminal 4 - advice please!

My mum and brother are flying from LHR Terminal 4 and they are wanting to stay at LHR the night before. As my brother has a disability we wanted to find a hotel that is either at Terminal 4 or very easily accessible and cheap by taxi to LHR Terminal 4.
Ive looked on Holiday Extras and all i could find at Terminal 4 is the Hilton and the total price for this is £180 inc return coach transfer from Dorchester. The price of the coach tickets alone is £60.00 return for both.
There was also the 4* Holiday Inn Express on Sibley Road which is £108 total inc coach plus £10 each way taxi at the airport. Has anyone stayed here?
My question is - are there any other hotels at Terminal 4 or is it just the Hilton and does anyone have any other recommendations - they dont want to spend more than £120 in total for room, coach and taxis. The night of the stay is Wed 17th May.
Has anyone stayed at the Hilton - is it worth the extra money? My brother cant walk far and my mum will be having to help him and also carry suitcases so I am trying to find something as convenient as possible - not having much luck!!
Has anyone stayed at either of the Travelodges that are near LHR?
I appreciate any advice, and if there are any websites or phone nos of contacts at LHR that can assist those with disabilities this would be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

You could bid on Priceline for a 3* hotel at LHR.
Depends on how full they are but the going rate for the Novotel can be as low as $30. This equates to £25 when you add the taxes and fees.
Then to get to T4 you could use the Hoppa (£3 each way) and then tx to T4 or probably cheaper\better is to get a taxi.
Look at Betterbidding for advise etc on how to bid.0 -
The Jury's Inn is near Terminal 4. It's the airport's newest hotel and good value. I've heard a number of comments, all positive on the hotel. There's a free shuttle bus from Hatton Cross Station (literally across the road from the hotel) which will take you to T4 for free.

The closest Hotel to T4 is as you say the Hilton which is linked directly to T4 by a covered walkway. I have not stayed there as prices are inflated due to its proximity to the terminal. If you want to take LB1985's suggestion of Jurys I found the night you wanted for £79 for a twin on http://www.activehotels.com. The only other hotel I know of on the south side of the airport is the ST Gilles.
Most of the Heathrow hotels are on the North side of the airport. The Heathrow hoppa calls at most of these major hotels and serves Terminals 1,2 and 3 (cost £5 each return). Transfers to terminal 4 can be made by taking the Hoppa and then the tube this does involve a fair amount of walking so a taxi is probably a better alternative. I think £15 each way is more like the Taxi price from the North side of the airport to Terminal 4.
As to coaches from Dorchester, National Express was doing any single journey for £9 if prebooked on the net I think minimum three days prior to travel. So if that is still on the fares would be £36. I think their site is http://www.nationalexpress.com SORRY THIS OFFER IS TRAVEL BEFORE 31 MARCH0 -
I would definitely have a crack with Priceline. They have recently changed their rules and their "lockout" period has been reduced from 72 hours to 24 hours. Just stick a cheeky bid of £18 for a 3* and if you get knocked back, try £20 in 24 hours' time, etc.blindman wrote:You could bid on Priceline for a 3* hotel at LHR.

My wife and i did stay at the Hilton T4 last year - The hotel was excellent, the room was lovely and we got a good price by shopping around.
The bonus is the direct link to T4 - As you exit the front entrance to the hotel there is a long walkway that takes you direct into the terminal building. However it is a long walk around 10mins i would imagine, which can be difficult with luggage (the hotel does have trolleys available).
I would suggest this is not the best hotel, if your brother has difficulty walking maybe a taxi from a nearby hotel like the jurys inn would be a better bet, that way they will arrive right at the terminal entrance and the only walking will be to the check in desk and the gate.
Hope they have a great time

Hi everyone
Thanks for all your advice, much appreciated, and i have looked into all the options that were advised. I passed on the information to my mum and brother, and after lots of deliberating (on their part!!), it has been decided that on this occasion they will get a taxi from their home to LHR T4..... but please dont think your advice is wasted as we will bear all the info in mind for future trips..... the clincher was the fact that a return taxi was more convenient when travelling with my brother who needs a lot of assistance walking long distances, plus luggage will be taken care of, but it is more expensive than staying at hotel but in the end peace of mind for my mum became the most important factor.
I also thought that Jurys looks good value for those departing from T4. Im sure priceline would have been good but for some reason i couldnt get to grips with the website.
thanks again for helping

I would suggest getting a 10 pound room at the travelodge Staines - which is a 15 quid trip in a non-black cab. Its new and there are plenty of restaurants/pubs nearby0

I agree with lb1985 about the Jury's inn. I,ve stayed there and thought it was cracking value for money, shuttle bus stops outside reception and you can see the planes land and take off from the rooms (dont worry you cant hear them even though you can see them...its all a bit weird...no doubt due to fantastic soundproofing).Anyone looking for a hotel at LHR should look at Jury's 1st for sure.No man is an island ....unless his name is Madagascar!0

As the return cab fare equates closely to the hotel cost plus cab, I can understand your mothers reasons for staying at home. However there are a
couple of caveats.
1] If your cab breaks down on the way, or traffic is really bad, they could miss the plane altogether.
2] On their return because you live so far from the airport,it might be difficult to get a cab
local to you, to drive empty to the airport and risk you not being there or you
perhaps taking the wrong cab and the cab company insisting you pay their fare as well as the one that picked you up.
3] the alternative is to pay the return fare up front to guarantee that a cab will show.Unscrupulous cab companies will pocket the money, not send a cab then swear blind they sent one. Or if they don't turn up at all because they forgot or couldn't get a driver, you will have to try and find one in Heathrow-
and the only ones there are ripoff priced blackcabs.
It might be easier to book the return cab from around Heathrow to avoid
such problems.Best to book before your mother leaves, and make sure that she has their phone number to contact them from the airport should the cab not be there. Also agree a price with them and do haggle as it is such a big fare. Check with them on their waiting charges as airports are notoriously
slow at getting passengers through the terminal.
It is as well to check when the waiting times finishes. eg when you meet the driver in the airport or when you are actually in the car which can be a further 10 minutes or so.
Good luck- it can be quite nerve wracking travelling.0
