afraid do nto know all my APR's you all must think i am really stupid.

It's not stupid not to know something! [certainly not as stupid as me thinking maintenance was a debt os some kind!!!] :D

On all your credit card statements there should be a summary box saying what interest was being paid each month – often around 1.x% [multiply by 12 to get the annual APR].

Re loans/overdrafts etc, just ring the banks/providers and ask them what the APR is!

Don't beat yourself up about this. You're not stupid...far from. The thick people are those that continue to try and muddle through by sticking their head in the sand. You've posted here, which is a very good first step in getting all of this sorted out.

One thing I have noticed, Is that your husbands income isnt noted on your SOA ? What does he pay for in the home?

  • Hi ellie,

Would it not be better to tell your husband about your debts and then you can try and tackle them together.

Do your total incomings include any income from your husband or is that included in there.

Surely as husband and wife your debts / savings are his and his debt savings are yours.

If you can join your finances and fight the debt together maybe that would help.
