Thanks Tine, she is in a process of getting a job in care industry so fingures crossed! anyway i drove Nissan Micra for 6 months which was £65.00 insurence, then i had to chuck it cause it wouldn't pass the MOT, i have got a Rover 414 SLI 1.4 now which i bought for £160. I can get a cheaper insurence from UNISON but i am not sure if i can trasfer my insurence to another company in my 1st yr of driving, any idea's?

I probably won't be able to get a single loan to clear off my debts! so lets see what CCCS and Payplan can offer me :- )

    Cheers!

You can change your insurance company any time BUT you might loose your no claims... How long has that policy been running and how much will it save you? if you're a few months in and you'll save say £100-200 over a year then it's worth it, if your £10 months in and you saving pennies then get the one years no claim before moving :) Is your current policy 3rd partyfire and theft or fully comp?

If she is getting a job in the care industry then could she temporarily do care temping? They pay ok-ish and although odd hours then she should be able to find something with any luck :)

Hi, do you have PPI (payment protection) on your loans? If so think about cancelling it, we just found out that my BF has a decent cover provided for him through his work (he works for a building society so should know better!) we just got a refund of £275 and about £1700 taken off the overall amount of the loan meaning his monthly repaymetn will be lower. Its really worth checking. (take a look at the loans threads)

    Hi :)

Is the online course anything to do with work, or is it something that might benefit you at work? I'm thinking about training that could be applied (however loosely) to what you do for a living. If so, then it might be worth approaching your employers to ask if they would pay for the course, or even part-pay for it. £110 a month is a lot, and if you could get them to foot half of that bill it would give you £55 per month to throw at your remaining debts.

Whatever happens, you're in the right place for advice!

My advice on the car, if you can get a cheap car with smaller engine (1 litre would do just fine) it will help bring your insurance down. My first years insurance on a Ford Fiesta 1.1 (old box shape) was £880 and I was 17. I went through Tesco as well. You need a lower band car insurance basically. I'm guessing your tax will be pretty pricey as well with that car.

First of all thanks again to D&DD, tine, toontastic and Reya!!

My insurence is TPFT, 1yr bonus will be march next yr! and with Unison i would be only paying £45 per month so that will save me £60 more to put towards my consolidation. How do i change my insurence company? do i tell them that i have got insurence with TESCO and i want to move?

About my Online course, it's an additional qulification so that i can apply for diefferent range of job. It doesn't actually relates with my employer. I will only have to pay the online fee 6 more months then im qualified :- ) so .....

With all of your advices i think i will be able to build up a preety good base for my future- thanks to all once again

As it looks like you have only just taken it out then call them and tell them you'd liek to cancel :) If you are within 14 days then you might not even get charged for the cover you have had. If you have had the cover longer then you should still be able to cancel but they might charge you an admin fee... argue with them to reduce this if you need to - say it wasn't pointed out when you took the original cover etc etc etc

Be positive and work together both of you :) hat makes things SO much easier :) Are there anything in your home that you could e-bay for instant funds for your debts? CDs and DVDs that you no longer watch? PC and games console games you no longer play? :)

Does your wife drive or any other family member? It may be worth seeing how much you'd save by being on someone else insurance. The downsides are that you won't collect no claims - but some companies will give you an allowance if you have been a named driver on someone elses insurance.
Anyway, if it saves you a lot of money all the while that you are paying off debts, it could be worth looking at.
Current debt - £3040 on credit cards.

Should be debt free by June 2007! Wooohooo!
