Sorry to sound vague - you know what i'm saying? They are basically giving you a reason which is it is not your credit report but our internal policy that declined you. Therefore they are also hinting that it is something on the application, i.e. something you've told them that doesn't add up/meet their minimum.

Maybe this is length of time with bank/at address/at same employer... it could be salary is too little/too much expenditure/too many cards....

The list goes on, its a very vague reply but all the same it is unfortunately all they have to answer with, as such that is all they tell you. The bare minimum.

Don't worry, just try Vodafone or similar - they are easier to get a mobile with, just not the iPhone (crap & overpriced anyway IMO)

That makes sense. Thanks for that. Its just very frustrating. Ive only been living in Englang just coming up to 3 years now so maybe it is something to do with that..

Thats the one mate - you need at least 3yrs for most things to be approved manually..... hold fire until you get to three years and then try again.

No need to get picky - I was 'generalising'......

    I know you were.

I was merely saying they don't take employment data. :D

    Strange why they don't.

because it is not a revolving credit account so no need to! Only credit cards/loans/bank accounts/mortgages use this data. Mobile Phones/Storecards and catalogues do not need it. Remember mobile contracts are not part of the CCA......

Yeah thats what I thought. Although I have a friend who got a contract with them in November 2007 when the iphone launched. He had only been living in the county about 2 months at that stage. Maybe they have tightened their policy in light of the financial meltdown.

Just realised, you're talking mobile accounts so residency doesn't come into play that much.... hmmm, i'm unsure to be honest so i'd say try Vodafone or something like that. Are you on the ER?

Right then the reason cannot be reversed so pointless appealing. Just forget them mate - TBH you'd be cheaper getting a CC and then buy an iPhone on eBay and pay the 0% purchases on your new card!

O2 are rubbish - shameful that iPhone went to them and not someone like Voda/Orange.....
