They have to give you one of three reasons;
1. Credit data
2. Credit Score
3. Adverse data
1 = Whatever came from your credit report, i.e. exisiting accounts etc
2 = Their internal lending criteria, fail this and forget it!
3 = Adverse data from the CRA as part of their credit report (search) at the time you apply.
They do not have to elaborate but they have to give the specific reason between those three options2010 - year of the troll

Thanks for that...
This was their exact wording:
"As well as our credit scoring system, we use business policies to assess all new applications. On this occasion you didn’t meet our criteria so we’re unable to accept your application.
As our business policies are commercially sensitive then I am unable to discuss the specific reason why we rejected your application."
Is that sufficient from them?0 -

That basically falls into category 2 - their internal minimum. As quoted, if you fail this forget it.
Sorry mate but yes, they have answered sufficiently....2010 - year of the troll

Sorry to sound vague - you know what i'm saying? They are basically giving you a reason which is it is not your credit report but our internal policy that declined you. Therefore they are also hinting that it is something on the application, i.e. something you've told them that doesn't add up/meet their minimum.
Maybe this is length of time with bank/at address/at same employer... it could be salary is too little/too much expenditure/too many cards....
The list goes on, its a very vague reply but all the same it is unfortunately all they have to answer with, as such that is all they tell you. The bare minimum.
Don't worry, just try Vodafone or similar - they are easier to get a mobile with, just not the iPhone (crap & overpriced anyway IMO)2010 - year of the troll
