Police - CPS And Harssment

Options
Hey all :)

I haven't been on here for ages but need some advice.
I was arrested in March this year following my ex making a false allegation to the Police that I have been harassing her, which is totally untrue.
I was arrested for 3 counts of harassment WITHOUT violence (the non serious type of harassment)
I was told the allegations against me relate to me sending her a valentines card, which everyone I have told has said it is madness when there are big crimes going on in this world.
Anyway, I was interviewed after spending 14 hours in custody and then placed on Police bail pending a charge by CPS.
My bail was extended as the CPS needed more time to consider if there is evidence to charge me.
Does anyone know what will likely happen if they do decide to charge me, even though I cant see how I have harassed her!!!!!!!!
It is my first offence as a adult and I have no previous convictions.

This is all madness for something I have not done.

Big crimes going on in the world does not make the lesser one disappear.

Seems that there is probably a lot more to this that we don't know, im unclear as to whether you sent a card or not or whether this also is a false allegation.

A card on its own may be unlikely to amount to harrassment but other circs/course of conduct may make it fit the bill.

If charged court appearances will follow initially quite promptly and a trial further down the line if as it sounds case is disputed

    What??:confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused:
A trial?? a trial for sending a card by post?
I clearly cannot say what the other circs/course as it is a pending investigation.
However, will court appearance be 100%? I find this all very odd as the allegations made are false and she has just done it to cause trouble!

If it is false, hopefully the case will be dropped and no charge will follow, however, that is a matter for the reviewing CPS lawyer. If charged court is 100%, whether it would get all the way to trail is debatable on the evidence available

Harressment can come in many forms, silent calls, text messages etc. One off's may not always amount to a course of conduct tho ie.the sent card.

Best of luck with it, must be anxious time to say the least

I smell a far more complicated story than the one you've told.

It comes down to the CPS reviewers - if they don't feel there's a case to answer you won't go to trial.

    Good luck.

    Okay thanks.
What are the likely charges for Harassment not put in fear of violence???!!!
Im really bothered by this as it seems madness over a card! :(:(:(:(

Anyway, how soon after charge is the first court appearance likley to be???

Why are you being charged for 3 counts of harassment over one card. It doesnt make sense. I presume this is the ex-wife you had a private investigator following? I'm sorry but I don't think you're telling us the whole story here.

After charge - a matter of only a few days.
I'm wondering why a round pizza comes in a square box -

I'd say that hiring a private detective to find out her whereabouts is harassment, wouldn't you?

Incidentally one offence of harassment must consist of at least two events

If the CPS decide to prosecute you then yes, the matter will proceed to court. A trial will only take place if you decide to plead not guilty to the charges. If you were arrested for 3 counts of harrassment then there is clearly more involved here than a card.
