(if you can't get online ask a friend to download it for you to a CD then you can install it from there).

Once installed, up and running get the IE extention "IE View" and install it. Get it here .....

Once up and running you will see a small icon at the bottom right corner of the browser window. Like this.....



Should you ever visit a site that insists on IE (such as Microsoft) you just click on that icon and, lo & behold, your browser switches to behave as if it were IE.

When the job is over click it again and revert to FF.

i've tried all the repairs etc.i've already got firefox and been using this.just thought i needed ie for other programmes but if i don't then you're right enough and i don't need it.

Here's a thought: Internet Explorer might still be there. Go to Start>All Programs and select either Windows Update or Microsoft Update. Does anything happen?
