Does the cooling off period still apply when mobile bought in shop?

Hi all - went into 02 shop last week and bought a mobile on contract for 24 months. I've now realised I'm not comfortable with the 24 month payment period and would like to cancel. Do I have the same right to cancel within 14 days even though I didn't buy it online?

Thanks a lot
Regards

I don't think so; no doubt others will confirm. Only if it was miss-sold!

Thanks mobilejunkie for responding. I'm hoping someone might know for definite.

I've just been looking at the summary of terms and conditions of the agreement and under consumer summary, one of the points is called "14 day change your mind policy". It says "...you may change your handset and cancel your airtime contract during the Change your mind period..." It doesn't say that this only applies to orders placed online or over the phone. I haven't used the mobile at all since I got it.

I'm not the most confident of people and don't want to go in and ask to cancel unless I'm sure that I can. Can anyone help me please?

    Thanks
    Regards

The below was taken from there code of pratice.....
    Changing your mind
If you want to cancel your O2 mobile contract,
just return your mobile phone – with any
accessories – within 14 days of when you
bought it and we'll give you a full refund.
(This doesn't apply if you upgraded a Pay
Monthly phone in an O2 shop).
The phone and accessories must be complete,
undamaged, in the original packaging and
include your receipt. You only have to pay for
    any calls you have made
    Hope this helps.

Hi again - just to let you know that the staff were great in the shop and cancelled the contract no problem. I'm delighted and relieved!
    Thanks again.
