Faulty Motorola Razr phone?

For those who have bought or are using or know somebody who is using the Motoroal Razr phone, it may be part of a bad batch that was manufactured.
The bug in the phones cuts off callers or makes the device shut down when the flip of the slimline handset is opened.
News suggests that the affected batches are mainly in the USA, but are unsure whether the UK batch(es) are affected.
