BT Broadband price gone up?

I've just noticed on my BT BB bill that the fee has gone up from around £37 to £68.

They have charged me this for 3 months, now. I honestly didn't notice.

Is this correct, or have they made a mistake?

I have BT BB Option 1 and a 'phone line with them.

I was not warned by them.

Recently, I received a letter asking if I wanted their wireless access as it was cheaper, but didn't get around to signing up. Should I do this? Will they change me over without an interruption to my service?

What do I need to get wireless access? I have an old laptop.

Sure it's not over usage or the end of an offer you got from them?

I had a burst of usage in December, but not since then. The fee has remained exactly the same since December- £67.50.

how long you being on this contract, i am thinking that you had an offer for the first 3 months of your contract, which has now expired, and you are now getting charged full price, as £67.50 for 3 months is about right for option 1 and phone line

i asked for my MAC code Friday, they put me straight over to someone who asked why I wanted to leave BT, told them they were too expensive and O2 were offering £7.95 a month for a similar service, 8meg etc.
Guy at BT offered me £7.33 a month including VAT, saving me nearly £15 a month, took 5 minutes that was all.

    Hey Top_Banana,

It sounds like you've come to the end of a special offer. Thats probably the case if you've not been using your broadband more than usual. I can check this for you but Ill need your telephone number. Ill PM you with contact details if you want me to check it.

I've been on to BT and it's not the end of an offer, or similar, as I've been on this current price plan since 2005. Apparently it is simething to do with alterations in how they calculate VAT....??! So they are charging me extra as a 'catch up' to make up for paying too little.

    How odd.

They reassure me it will go back down again, though.

    Hurrumph.
