I havent a clue ive only been an alotmenteer for little over a month lol. I just know according to other plotholders its not a fruit tree (it looks very pretty though in summer LOL). I will take a piccy tommorow :D and if it does need a "pollonation partner" hopefully you could recommend one (do trees have an online dating site :rotfl: )
A pollination partner can make the tree have fruit, but only if it is a fruit tree, lol.
    It can't work miracles.

i have just returned to this

ref the water from your roof, if it isnt that far away ( and you say it isnt ) you could have a tank next to your house with a 2" pipe to a tank near the allotment ( fit a ball !!!! to that tank to stop it over flowing ) in the depths of the summer when we will not have much rain, you could allways run a hose pipe into your tank next to your house to feed the allotment tank

ref sheds, they need to be on the allotment, its what people want

ref the lay out, just a fance around the whole of tha allotment area, then just seperate them with paths ( about 3 ft wide paths ) with a wider path down he center ( width of a car ) so people can drop stuff off

ref fires, a fire pit ( fire area ) is a good idea, as is a family area, a few picnic tables etc etc

personally i would have a area in the middle of the area setup as a family area, then children / grandchildren can been seen from all the plots and the children can play with each other etc etc, i would make it a nice place for every1 to visit, that way every1 stays happy

Thanks Matt unfortunately the water tanks that collect the rain water are downhill from the field set aside for allotments! quite seperate from my house, I like the idea of a family area, not so sure about the insurance implications of childrens play equipment althought I would reallly like to put some in.
