Internet wont load

Hi,

I have a problem with my laptop, every time I click on the internet it will not load and shows the page sorry this is not working or whatever it says, as if I were not connected to the internet. However the icon is showing that I am connected to the internet and windows cannot diagnose a problem with the connection. It will also sign onto msn messenger but I cannot search the web from there as it shows the same message.

I have reset the laptop and it still does not work. Does anyone have any suggestions?

nothing happens, anyone else got any ideas?

Its still comes up with internet explorer cannot display the page.

Does any on have any back up discs for a Fujitsu siemens amilo laptop?

When you say youve reset the laptop, you mean to when you first bought it?

The logical thing to do is to try an alternative browser e.g. here Have you?

Hi thanks you,

No i have not restored it to the point where i bought it as i dont have back up discs to take it back to that point (my own fault).

Also i cant try a different browser as i cannot get onto the internet to change it, so i dont think that wil work will it?

Try resetting IE

1. Open Internet Explorer.
2. Click Tools, and then click Internet Options.
3. Click the Advanced tab.
4. Under Reset Internet Explorer Settings, click Reset.

Have you recently upgraded to IE8 or still on 7? Have you installed/updated anything recently that may be effecting it?

just tried resetting IE and nothing has changed. Dont think I have installed anything new on it no. It is very odd as I have no idea why it is doing this, was working one day and then i turned it off and then went to use it next day and it stopped working.

It would if you downloaded the alternate browser on another machine e.g. library/work etc.

Have you tried booting into safe mode (F8 @ startup) and selecting Safe Mode with Networking.

I dont have any networks to be able to do that! It is very odd and starting to annoy me, thanks for everyones help so far, keep the ideas coming!! x

What OS are you using?
Are you connecting wirelessly or wired?
