You have to right click on the desktop and you should find keepassx, or any other program, somewhere in the menu which will appear.
Installing through the repositories is the easiest way, everything is done for you, I wouldn't bother trying any other, and virtually all of the programs you want will be there, or a similar.

No, it won't do the form filling thing for you. Otherwise an excellent program that I've used for years, both in Windows and Linux.

I'm glad you got it sorted, it is well worth the effort getting to grips with linux linpus, it is just different to Windows and needs a wee bit of patience and learning, but not too much.
If I come across any formfilling app I will let you know.

What I would do is simply add an extension to Firefox which will act as a form filler. If you go to https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/search?q=form+filler&cat=all you will find a selection, I tried 'fireform' and that works OK with Linux (ubuntu), Roboform wouldn't work. I don't know about the rest. I would try these as a solution, apart from that, they are easy to get rid off if they are not the answer.
