Fuji repairs

I’m pretty sure I've seen 9500/9600s on there for <£150 although maybe these will not re-appear if the model has been superseded.
What about the SOG idea? Did it fail or did you break it?0 -

It failed - one day it was working fine, the next not. It doesn't see much use either, just light use. At first I thought I had changed a setting! I personally did think that a camera like this should last a good few years but I actually think 3 years might be stretching unfit for purpose. I have always had bad problems with Comet, Argos and Currys over things which are outside warranty periods even by only a few days!! This came from PC World!!!!!!!!!0 -
I think I’d be tempted to give the SOG angle a push, a lightly used high quality camera should last longer than 3 years, any evidence or similar failures with other users?0
-
I honestly don't think I would get anywhere with PC World. I recently had a "do" with Comet (one of a good few over the years) and it was only typical.0

Seems to suggest that it is a common/design fault involving a overly weak plastic pin.
The first (and others) give fairly simple methods of home repair but more interestingly the last post suggests that Fuji have accepted responsibility and are doing free repairs even if out of warranty.
Got to be worth a phone call0 -
OMG - and I just paid and sent off the camera this morning.
What's worse it looks like it might go again.
Definitely time to have a go at Fuji on the phone ASAP.
It just goes from bad to worse.
Thanks for the link.0 -

Be better if they accepted responsibility first off as it’s a well known and long standing design/assembly errorPhoned Fuji this morning and they say they will repair it FOC and will refund my payment.
