Just rang the above number and spoke to a gentleman from the Halifax, according to him the payment due date is the 5th May but there is no balance shown on the statement for this month even though it has a balance of £200 online, so therefore there is nothing to pay on the 5th May.

Did they tell you when your first statement will be printed? In any case, you'll be able to monitor things online.
No doubt your first payment will be due on or around 5 June.

Thanks again for your help - nah they didn't say when the first statement would be but I suspect the same as you that the actual first payment will be around the 5th June.
