Explain that if she doesn't like the colour from the Landly Brides, then she will really have to make an effort within the next couple of weeks to choose a pattern and fabric to give your Aunt time to make it or if SHE would prefer just choose her own dress, pay for it and be a normal family guest. You would love her to be bridesmaid but totally understand if she chooses to step down................sorted x
I think this is an excellent suggestion.2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

I've never understood this one to be honest - I always thought being a bridesmaid was about putting up and shutting up - if I was bridesmaid for someone I wouldn't dare think that I would have any say in a dress, but on the other hand, I would also expect a bride to pay for them? Maybe I've got it the wrong way around... haha

hiya all, would greatly appreciate anyone who could point me in the direction or recommend a good seller of custom dresses (not landy or milly)
my aunt has come back saying it would be over £50 for her to make the dress once she costed it. we also costed nice material today and came to the same conclusion that china was cheaper. i think this coupled with the fact my sis is too busy until the 6th june etc, would put my elderly aunt under too much pressure. i also think my sis might have contacted my aunt, but to be honest i can't be bothered with the hassle.
we have decided to sell it after the wedding and would prefer to keep it under £50. landy are too dear and i've emailed milly. anyone any other suggestions.
so i'll keep checking ebay for bargains.
thanks for all your help:love: married to the man of my dreams! 9-08-090 -

What is the style of gown Chardonnay?? Is it still this http://www.landybridal.com/Product/Pro1599.html
Ok then, lets do a costing.
I have a fabric supplier who has a very dark purple or slightly darker, aubergine. The fabric per m is £6.89.
You will require about 3.5m and the same of lining approx £2.00m fabric total £31.00 Haberdashery ie zip interfacing (if needed) and postage charges approx £7.00 so your total fabric price will be £38.00.
Now, if your aunt would make this for free or minimal cost? (I'm making my neices prom dress for considerably less cos she's my neice) you can get your dress for under £50.00. If she wants something for making it, could you maybe talk to your sis and put in say £20 each? This still keeps your cost arounf the £50-60 mark and sis gets a dress for £20-25.0 -

These have purple as an option for their dresses. I bought my dresses from these last season and they're lovely. Otherwise, I'm with the others - it's your day so she can either wear what you want her to or buy her own and come as a guest.0 -
landy, milly, light in the box and sweetsend are all working out too dear with shipping.
i found this on ebay, seller has good feedback and i think it will be a close match to our colour scheme. i've emailed my sis the link, telling her that we know she doesn't like our colour scheme but there's not much we can do as we have already bought things to match and mentioning that it's only a few hours she will have to wear it. what do you think of it, she's 22, cheers
