However Littlewoods will argue, as they have sucessfully before I believe, that the contract has been taken out at the full price and that they have given you a discretionary discount afterwards (This is shown by the original poster having to pay the full price and then having £50 refunded)

It states clearly in their terms and conditions that the customer must check they are allowed to use discount code before use and by using it are agreeing that they are, if then littlewoods discover you cannot use code they will claim back the discount and charge the original agreed price.

This is similar to say Sky drawing up a contract saying that they would charge £10 for TV instead of a usual £25 on the proviso you get internet from them also (the proviso in this case being the eligibilty to use discount voucher), then should you stop using their internet they would charge you the £25 for TV

Unforunately I think as absolutely immoral as we may think Littlewoods are, they aren't actually doing anything illegal. And it is all clearly stated in their T+C's, but as I'm not a legal whizz, if you think you would be able to win anything, then I bow to you.

Just wanting to make sure fellow moneysavers are aware of previous dealings with them and how much bother people have had in the past.

TELEPHONE ORDERS ONLY QUOTING CODE ZQ152.
    order before 10th april.
Spend over £100 and receive £50 back, making the new DSi only £99!
I can confirm that this does work!
You will need to blag it a bit on the phone saying you received a letter offering you the discount!
    But Great Bargain!

...and they could claw back the discount when they realise they didn't send you the code, as they have done before
The thanks button is here to the right. If you find a post saves you money, gives you useful information, or you agree with it, take a second to thank the poster! :)

Hmm, I just don't see how they can incorporate such terms into a contract concluded over the phone, when the terms and conditions were not brought to my attention over the phone.

Ah well, hopefully it won't happen, and it will save me a whole lot of bother lol! :)

    Hi

I have just ordered a DSi - got it for £99.97 - I paid via credit card and have had confirmation that it will be delivered next week - I dont see how they can come back and request the £50 at a later date (surely its illegal for them to do that)!

    Such a great deal!!
