  • i bought a £100 nintendo DS suing a ZG--- £30 off code last october. I bought nothing else from them after that

I had a bill through in January for £30 for 'promotional adjustment'. I called their call centre, and i was i had to pay it, no reason was given.

i wouldn't buy anything else from them, or the woolworths website that they've just taken over
  • If you werent entitled, then you can hardly blame the company.

If you're not entitled to use the codes, then the company should make it so the code does not work on your account.

    IMO its the company's fault.
    I Hate Jobsworths!!!
  • I see. So because people are unwilling to follow the rules and guidelines set out by the company, its THEIR fault that the customers use the codes against all the rules and guidelines they set out?

Nope. Its the customers fault. They say they will charge you if you use something your not entitled to. YOU KNOW THE RISKS WHEN YOU DO IT, THEN YOU COMPLAIN WHEN THE RISK COMES TO THE FRONT, AND YOU LOSE OUT.
  • The moral of the story is: Read the T's & C's before posting and/or using any of these codes.

I think its worth pointing out the offer was billed as new customers only. i phoned up as a new customer, quoted the code and was told it was acceptable. I had bought some furniture from a littlewoods company called index (like argos) in 2000, but was told this was ok. i then bought the DS over the phone, but they opened the online account for me over the phone

3 months later i had the £30 billed to my account as a 'promotional adjustment' i thought about arguing the case, but i thought my credit rating could be damaged, so i paid

It is the responsiblilty of the telephone sales rep. to assess your case and decide whether you qualify for the saving. i would not have purchased the DS if there had been some uncertainty

If littlewoods are ok, why aren't every other company on this forum for doning the same thing

i believe i was treated unfairly

But littlewoods have a responsiblity to make things CLEAR to customers, not hidden in the small print! we're not all consumer experts like some people who seem to have too much time on their hands!

i would write a letter of complaint and tell them to listen to the call as the advisor is at fault here not you
Wins so far this year: Mum to be bath set, follow me Domino Dog, Vital baby feeding set, Spiderman goody bag, free pack of Kiplings cakes, £15 love to shop voucher, HTC Desire, Olive oil cooking spray, Original Source Strawberry Shower Gel, Garnier skin care hamper, Marc Jacobs fragrance.
  • If thats the case, you ALWAYS fight your corner. You dont let companies push you about! This is the sort of thing that Martin is constantly warning us against, and telling us not to back down, and take it as far as possible to get a win for the consumer. If you, in this instance, are correct, and by your reply, Im 110% you are, then you shouldnt have paid the £30, and disputed it. Then if Littlewoods decided to knacker your Credit rating, Id take them to Trading Standards for it all.
