Thank you all for you kind words and support/advice, I really aparetiate it.

    I live in east yorkshire.

I an a member of my local freecycle group, the problem with it is that it is a very small group with quite a lot of members, there is only ever a few offers of items a day, and most of it is just random stuff like books or games, and whenever something decent comes up there are so many people asking for it that its really hard to get a shot at anything.

I tried to join another larger group that is near by, but was rejected ad I didn't live in the imidiate area. =(

I have been to the council to ask of they knew of anywhere that I could get some furniture, and the only place they said there is around my area is a group run by the church where they rehome furniture,
so I went to them and explained my situation to the and was told because I'm not a member of the church I was not going to get anything imidiatly but I could be put on a waiting list for donations.

Other than that I don't thing there is anything else where I live (its a bit of a hole)

And the reason I wanted the second £1000 was because I owe friends and family quite a bit of money that I borrowed to buy clothes and toys and essencials for my child.
And I would like to keep a couple of hundred set aside for an emergancy, since I would never want to be in the situation I have been in again.

Have you posted a Wanted ad on Freecycle? Lots of people (like me!) have stuff they haven't got round to listing but are happy to give.

Definitely contact Women's Aid and ask for assistance with making a Community Care Grant application - it will help if you can come up with waysin which your child's development is being delayed (no carpets and splintery floors so can't toddle freely / no bed so cramped in cot - you get the idea)! Also get in touch with SureStart and ask for assistance.

    Good luck!

    Mel.
Though no-one can go back and make a brand-new start, anyone can start from now and make a brand-new ending.
