Ive just bought the bebe confort loola (carrycot, car seat and pushchair) and I think its fab! Carry cot is really sturdy and can be used at nighttime to sleep too.
| bought mine from ebay (new) and it was about £350.
Not sure which Chicco you looked at, but have you seen this one https://www.kiddicare.com/invt/chijutravtriom, I looked at this, but unfortunately it wouldnt fit in my car.

I thought about the 3-in-1 system but I've decided to get a seperate pushchair and car seat. Firstly because I read (I think it was the Which? survey) that the Chicco Shuttle was the only car seat to provide adequate side-impact protection (for European standards) but the mothercare staff member said there were changes pending in March for all the models. Besides the Chicco Shuttle can be used from birth to 4 years (from memory). The local council may also be able to advise you where you can go to get proper advice re. the safe fitting of the car seat. I costed it at £70 at Toys r' us but haven't bought it as yet so don't know if it'll go in the car. The pram chair (which I haven't checked for safety admittedly) I got is called the Altan from mothercare and is also £70. When I checked it out the lady said that one thing to bear in mind is the length of the seat if using it from birth, as it can be problematic when they get older (something I hadn't thought of) and advised me that this model was the one she'd advise me to get. I also checked all the others for weight and size as some of them weigh a ton and I couldn't lift them easily into a boot of a car and I didn't want a push chair which was difficult to put up or down if in a hurry and wanted one which would fit in the boot with ease. It also came with a weathershield and has a shopping basket at the bottom. It's not the most attractive one but practicality-wise I found it the best. I found the more attractive models were quite difficult to get up and down and involved three or four steps when the Altan model could be up or down in one action. I also thought that it might be easier if I didn't have to fiddle with the car seat all the time if I had one permanently in the car.0

We've got a pliko pramette (exactly the same as you found on glasgow pram centre) and it is fab - thoroughly recommend it.
We are first time parents and LO is 4 months so we're still novices really. But have seen many other parents struggling to get prams sorted out of the boot and put up and down etc and up and down steps and the pramette is a doddle at both. Fits easily in our fiesta boot. Really easy to 'drive' and so lightweight - Ive got a really bad back and pelvis still from horrendous pregnancy and if I can cope with it anyone can.
We didnt get the matching car seat as we thought the back was too upright. Got the graco autobaby and that is excellent. Its caused no problems for us as LO used pram from day 1 and we could easily lift her out of the autobaby without her waking.
Sorry for sounding like an advert, but we've ended up with some really useless baby stuff and some absolutely brilliant bits, and this pram is definintely one of the best0 -
The problem with travel systems is that the car seats are not always the safeest on the market, I cant remember which seats are the best at the mo, but i know that the mother care own baby seat RRP £40 IS 5th best in crash tests, thats the one I will be getting.
I love the maclaren techno buggy, its from birth and you will get loads of use out of it, the problem with bigger pushchairs etc is that ppl tend to change their mins after 6 months to a yr of having abig pram and want a smaller pushchair, save yourself the agro and money and get the smaller one to start with! After 9 yrs of buggy pushing I know what I like!Debt free and plan on staying that way!!!!0 -
Have you looked on Kiddicare.com, delivery is free (or already included!) and quick, you need to test drive in a shop then order what you prefer online, ideally.
