Rip off rip off blah blah blah etc etc etc!!!!

    Yeah down with the system.

However £46 is only £9.20 per year, which is nothing, for an internationally recognised form of ID, of course if you holiday in this country you will be paying VAT on everything you buy and thus putting more money into the pockets of the goverment.

So you are moaning about this country, but then saying you will stay here rather than going overseas? Fantastic logic there! :p

I dread to think what you will say when the time comes for you to replace your child's passport with it's first adult one! Compared to the prices of things these days i don't think it is that bad.

Passport fees are designed to cover the cost of providing the service and not to make a profit - why should us taxpayers subsidise your child with a cheap passport?

You moan even more when interviews become compulsary for all passport applications and renewals which will mean time off work to make a trip to the local (or not so local) passport office.

I dont believe the fee is expensive considering the fact it last for 10 years. We cant get everything for free or cheap. A lot of technology and security feature has been put into this new passport. It cost money.

Shouldn't have had a child then if you don't like the associated costs.
  • To be fair on the OP I do think the cost is high relative to that of an adult passport - £46 for 5 years for a child, around £72 for an adult, making it more expensive by £2 per year.
