Could it be 2.5% rather than 25%? Typing error in your letter maybe.

    I would find 2.5% believable.

shino74, your only other posts on MSE are related to claiming bank charges of £1,900 from HSBC.

You seem to have the golden touch.

Silvercar, the letter offers 21,700 not 25%, was just a rough percentage i put on my post. Also when i took out the mortgage with them the rate they charged was 6.8% so with good new rates and the 21700 tkane off my mortgage payments will be half....a nice £300 a month saving!
Yes George I do seem to be a bit lucky at times.

These letters will be automatically generated. Somewhere the operative will put in a number and the letter generated. If it happens that the operative has to put in the discount offered then the whole letter will be generated from that one entry. So if the operative puts 25 instead of 2.5, that will be the discount that shows in the letter.

If something looks too good to be true, it probably is.

Good luck with it. Don't discard the letter!

How good is your credit rating today?

How many months in arrears in your mortgage?

    Sorry, but confused.

Are Advantage Mortgages the actual lender or just the broker?

Pretty sure Advantage did lend but have been well and truly credit crunched:

    Linky

"Q. Who is going to administer my mortgage now that Advantage has ceased trading?
    A. The arrangements for administration of your mortgage have not changed. Morgan Stanley Bank International Limited trading as Advantage will continue to administer your mortgage and if you have any queries, please contact us on the usual telephone numbers."

Yes that is them!! As for the earlier question about being in arrears....I have never missed a payment with them, Experian credit score is 976 so pretty good I guess.
