Can i rent my garden?
Comments

One was a while ago now... July 2010? Went one day to have a nose and offered and took a plot the next day.
And October/November just gone, I had a half plot at a different site. Popped in and put my name down, few weeks
later a call and offered a choice of several. I think if i had arrived a bit earlier there may have been more choice.
People arrived after me and they were shown the ones i didnt want. I think he said its the 1st time for a while they
have had the site 100% full.
My original site had several vacant plots last time i looked, But not need down for a few weeks now.
Might pop down now actually. See what i have nice to eat.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
Just wondering where in the midlands you guys are who would like to make use of a garden because I have a large one which belongs to a flat which I rent out and sadly the garden doesn't get used. I don't even want to make money from it I would just love to see it put to good use.0

why not
I know people in London rent their drives to car parkers
with allotment lists so long, its worth a go,
look on ebay etcFreedom is the freedom to say that 2+2 = 4 (George Orwell, 1984).

Wonder if the OP did ever rent out their garden? Thread started in 2009,would be interesting to find out what happened and if they are still doing it?Debt Free Date:10/09/2007 :j :money:0

Yes, you can!!
You could rent it as allotments. People might pay more than for a municipal one as it's more secure etc...you won't get a huge amount of money, though.
Otherwise, why not rent it to campers? If you are in a 'touristy' area you might be surprised by the uptake.0 -
Doubt you would get much for renting a garden. You could do a deal where as you have some of the goods etc plus have a tidy garden.
I been waiting for allotment for almost 3 years and 60 plus on list it take me donkeys years at thsi rate I only moved 20+ spaces0 -
My mother wants to rent out her vegetable patch (plus greenhouse + shed) as an allotment - to somehow who has the time to look after it and will get something back from it.
Any good sites? I found rentmygarden (.) co (.) uk but it doesn't seem to have many listings... Any better sites?
Also, any idea of what she should expect/ask (£/mn or £/yr).
Its a raised bed of 2 x 10m, plus greenhouse, shed, plus south facing wall with 0.5m x 20m beds at the bottom. With well established raspberries, tayberries and mint.
? (sadly the height of my gardening glory is potatoes)0 -
How will she feel when someone wants to pull all that up and have a flat muddy area to grow something else because they dont like what you already have?
Its one of those things it can work but its risky. What if they ruin the garden?
A full plot in the midlands shot upto £75 a year. I think its bigger than what you have so is it worth it?Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0
