I once made one by getting the font they use for them, sorry I cant remember now what it was then putting one together in photoshop, printed out on 2 bits of A4 stuck together then laminated. It was the correct colour and looked pretty good if I do say so myself.
A bit OTT but its not really ok just to write one on a board using a marker!0 -

Good Lord. I've not heard anyone say that before :eek:0 -
i knew i wasn't allowed in the outside lane, even the copper said he knew i was going to get pee,d off eventually sitting behind the 2 lorries
Why did you get pee'd off at the lorries? The legal limit for towing a trailer is 60MPH which is 4MPH more than the lorries were doing so as most car speedos are more innaccurate than HGV ones, it was likely your speedo was indicating over 60 and therefore you had no cause to overtake.
So thats:
Towing illegally in the outside lane
Speeding
No rear numberplate
In short, several points and a few fines. No wonder you were chuffed at getting away with a ticking off.0 -
You don't need a numberplate on the trailer so long as the vehicle's plate is visible.
WRONG. The rear of the vehicle when towing becomes the rear of the trailer. By LAW it has to have a numberplate and correct rear lights and reflectors.
You can however whilst the trailer is attached have no working rear lights on the towing vehicle nor a numberplate.0 -
I wonder if Harvey got his trailer towed in the end?0

I have towed flatbed unloaded trailers without any additional lights or plate, Never had any problems.
Rear lights are clearly visible and i couldnt find any regulations about how close to the rear of
a vehicle the lights had to be.
There was a post on this a while back which related to the age of the trailer. Older unplated ones would be hard
to prove actual build date so hard to enforce the correct regulations.
See older is better.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0
