Leaving Three and porting number

I've left Three and gone to O2. I gave O2 my PAC on the 24th April, and it was transferred to their network on the 26th. I've received what I thought was a final bill from Three which is in credit. I called and asked for this to be refunded, but they say that it's not my final bill as there is £3 of usage on the account that hasn't been billed. They can't tell me what this is as my account is closed.
For some reason, the bill I've received states that my account was closed on the 24th April. I'm a little unsure as to why it says this since my account didn't actually stop until the 26th when the number transferred to O2. I have a sneaky suspicion that Three closed my account 2 days early, and the £3 of usage is what I used on the 25th and 26th prior to the number porting over.
As far as I'm concerned, any usage up until the second the number transfers to O2 should be included in my monthly text/min allowance. How can Three provide me service and bill me for an account that closed at an earlier date? Are they trying to screw me over?
Many thanks,
Michael.
