Every post you submit goes to give a little more insight into your state of mind and speaks volumes about your credibility.
I'm starting to get a little concerned now though. I mean, a little light-hearted banter is one thing... on my part to expose your ignorance and show how fool hardy it would be for anyone to put stock in anything to post on here. But I'm starting to wonder if you actually have a need for some professional help. I certainly don't want to be accused of mocking the afflicted.0 -

I have just received a letter from them advising that my MSE recommended mortgage payment protection insurance that I took out last year is now going to increase slightly in rate. From £53.02 per month to wait for it - £102.44 a 93% increase!!!!
Their justification? In the current economic climate where more people are claiming unemployment cover, there is a bigger risk and therefore they are putting up the rates. Outrageous!!! Come on Martin - can't we start a battle against these people to agree a rate with you on your policy and then have the decency to stand by it???
I am now going to have to change...and they only give you approx 6 weeks' notice in writing so it has to happen in the next 10 days or so.0 -

Their justification is quite sound and understandable.Come on Martin - can't we start a battle against these people to agree a rate with you on your policy and then have the decency to stand by it???
You could have gone with a provider that has higher premiums in the good years and less likely to increase in the bad. However, you chose to go with a budget provider that was considered by many to be too cheap and always like to suffer increases in the bad years.
It was your choice as it is now your choice to shop around again.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only.
