This crops up now and then, there is a separate registration for Channel Islands and they are not classed as the UK (they are a dependency not actually part of the UK). Unfortunately about half of the Channel Islanders register as UK.

Most Royal Mail services are the same although a customs form should usually be filled in. Most couriers charge the same rate as to France.

Next day courier service to most of mainland UK, Royal Mail standard parcel service to islands and Scottish highlands.

Customers in outlying areas are quite used to this - the main thing is to letthem know so that they don't have false expectations.

I had this problem on Amazon and when I broached the subject with Amazon i was told that was hard luck. So in effect rgere was nothing I could really do, except take it on the chin. Fortunately not too many sales came from offshore, and in most cases those that did I reverted to RM parcel service (added risk as not tracked)

I think "UK Shipping to UK Mainland" should be enough, what I think this is a case of though is people trying it on, and also arrogantly feeling that this does apply to them as they are part of the UK.

Next time it happens I will just send the item by Standard Parcels straight away and they can wait a week.
