Can anyone recommend a sky installer who would could do an installation at a reasonable price in london? Sky are saying it costs £60 to move to a new place and I was just trying to see if the price could be beaten for a new install - plus I really want to avoid drilling a massive hole through the wall if at all possible which i preumse i am likely to do with a person i have hired rather than one provided through sky.

Am in London#

You could say you are leaving Sky because of the cost of moving and they may offer it for nothing. Don't forget the fee will cover new dish, cabeling and lnb with warrenty (not sure if 3 or 12 months). You wont get an independant in London to match that.

Also if you don't want a hole drilled how do you propose getting the cable in the house? If its a resonable proposal not involving work at great heights then I am sure the Sky installer can accomodate you. In my experiance just be nice, offer cup of tea and talk it through with them and they will say if it can be done.

Its not the whole in the wall by itself its the fact that there is no face plate which I find problematic. If you ever take the cables out (such as removing the dish) you are left with a nice little hole in the wall. If there was a faceplate then of course this could be hidden (especially given that it is a rental).

Also the install costs sky £120, so technically its cheap.
But my mum called saying she would leave cause it was so expensive and they said they'll half the price.

    Good luck x

They offered to do the move and give me a HD box (I have Sky +) for £79 inclusive. I snapped there hand off considering I was still under contract and was interested in the HD Box anyway.
