After too and frowing......I have decided on Be for my new broadband supplier.....
Static IP address and Dynamic IP address are mentioned on the site. I know NOTHING about these choices.....even though I note on the Be value this choice is not needed.....
So what does STATIC IP address mean?
What does DYNANIC IP address mean?
When I phoned the sales line the sales assistant hadn't a bramble....
Today, my BEST is good enough.

If you need to ask, it really doesn't matter to you, and dynamic will be fine

If you were hosting applications/files/sites then static would be an issue, for general web usage it really doesn't matterUtinam logica falsa tuam philosophiam totam suffodiant.0 -
Basically, IP address is a number issued to your computer to identify it and be able to locate it.
Static IP Address - a number given to you and stays the same
Dynamic IP Address - every time you connect a different number is issued.Always get a Qualified opinion - My qualifications are that I am OLD and GRUMPY:p:p0 -
Chances are, you're using a dynamic IP right now - usually the people that need a static IP address know about it.... it doesn't affect access to get online - its just something that someone may need as part of their job
If you need to know 100% of everything before signing up - you'd also want to know how broadband works, and a lot of other technical stuff that would just either bore someone to death, or frighten people away.... not many people want to know everything in detail - belongs as it works, you don't need to know why....0 -
