Hi all,
I already have a Sky dish and box from a looong time ago.
I am going for the Pay Once Watch Forever package.
I am going to get them to replace the old dish for a new one and put a quad LNB in.
I am then going to ask them to pipe in an extra line into my house.
Does this mean I can have 2 Sky boxes that can point to different channels?
Am I set up so that if in the future I want to use a separate different FreeSat (not from Sky) box, I can just place my oldest Sky box with a FreeSat one? Are the connections the same?
Can I change channels on each box?
Am I setup for PVR?
Any restrictions?
Thanx

Hi Amo
The connections are the same.
F connection or RG6 connector.
You won't be able to get sky pvr unless you have a sky+ box and subscribe to the pvr function if you get the free channels (£10.00) or free if you subscribe to sky.
You should be able to use the freesat pvr as long as it has the pvr in the features.
Hope this helps

And yes you can use two different boxes getting separate channels on each."A life spent making mistakes is not only more honorable, but more useful than a life spent doing nothing." George Bernard Shaw:p0 -
Each box with it own feed can watch it's own channels.
You can swap the Sky box for a Freesat box whenever you like. It's the same connection.
You will only have PVR functions from Sky with a Sky+ or Sky HD box. If you have no active subscription, you have to pay £10/month to use the recording facilities.
Do a search for Freesat PVR's for other makes. You need 2 cables to the box to fully use a PVR box, otherwise you would have to watch what you're recording.Dave. :wave:0 -
I'm afraid Sky won't do all that for you, it's not part of the standard instillation for Pay once watch forever (which is single cable, dish and single LNB). However you could buy a quad of ebay and offer the nice installer a very nice tip if he put it up for you and run an extra feed :-)0
