Still on 4/12 days. Could be worse, quarter of my target and half way through the month!
    .
Doh, just realised that 4 is only a quarter of 12 after a bottle of wine, and it's more usually a third. So I'm doing better than I thought and my brain is more soggy with booze today than I though.

Caught up on all the silliness in the last 10 pages - thanks. You lot do make me giggle.

Hi to Nadine and SandC, good luck with your challenges.
Noy Noy, well done, glad to see your numbers going up.

On the Better Me weightloss front I borrowed a 'Shape up' work book at the library. It uses some new approaches and a very step by step approach to making long term changes not on again off again dieting. I plan to use a pedometer initially to count steps. On the food front they recommend eating each meal and snack at the same time each day which I have struggled with last week. This week I will track what and when I eat. http://www.weightconcern.org.uk/ Under the shape up programme there are Extras (diary, goal setting...) in the Links at the bottom of the page.

Right, off to the gym now.

    Well I did it :j:j:j

No alcohol for me last night. Admittedly it helped that I was knackered from gardening and was asleep on the sofa by 8pm but still...

So tonight will be another test. Can I make it 2 in a row

Thanks for the welcome posts and the stories of why we drink - I guess I over-simplified it in my first post that I drink because I like the taste :o I too have searched for an excuse on my way home to open a bottle of wine and I've never had to look hard either. It's amazing how quickly I can convince myself I deserve/need a drink.

Plan of action for tonight - cook dinner but minus the glass of g&t, head out into the garden to [STRIKE]finish[/STRIKE] continue weeding before the bad weather sets in, curl up on the sofa to watch Ashes to Ashes with a glass of lemonade and lime.

hope you all have a good day today

Welcome Glitzkiss, hope you enjoy the pure madness that is this thread, I get quite frustrated sometimes when I can't get on my laptop but am reading from my phone and somebody says something that makes me laugh out loud and it's such a faff to post on my phone that I leave it then the moments gone!! That has been pretty much the whole weekend this weekend, it's been hilarious! Hope you get to where you want to be and congrats for the AF night, did you have a change in your sleep pattern last night? Be prepared for some vivid dreams :D

Eselt, it definately would be total carnage if we all got together and were drinking, my god could you imagine it!! It's funny how we're all similar in music tastes, I love squeeze and used to be a huge fan of The Clash, it was odd a few years later when I had a back problem and went to a private chiropractitioner and it was run by the Clash's drummer!! Slight change of profession! Though I'm now more of a Queens of the Stone Age kinda girl, love head banging music, very loud clubs and tattoos in a big way! I think I was always a rebel, now proving to be a rebel to myself on the drink front.

Fay, remember you said in your text last night, could I have just the one to keep the jitters away and ring the counsellor today....well that turned out to be a big fat no. I managed to consume 4 cans of stella, 1 can of guinness draught, 1 (or might of been 2, not sure) bottle of Becks and some red wine - oh plus the half a bottle of red wine I put in the gravy hadn't quite burnt off all the alcohol cos I could taste it (lucky I wasn't feeding it to the kids ) I didn't have a hangover this morning which was worrying me, but I've just remembered I woke at 4am to go to the loo and remember downing a couple of paracetamol so that probably explains that.

This is not normal behaviour and I'm sick of it. Extra special effort shall be made for an AF day today, there is no way I can limit my intake and unlike where Fay lives, my shops around me are open practically all night long. Even if I bought a couple of cans, I'd be panicking that that's not enough and would then find an excuse to go out for more anyways. Very very frustrating behaviour, I'm not beating myself up about it, I know that I'm ill and I want to make myself better.

    Rant over

    Afternoon all

    xx

OH has just rung to say he didn't go into work today cos he's got diahorrea and can't understand why....I'm thinking maybe I spiked his dinner?? Didn't tell him about the amount of alcohol I tipped over his dinner though.....

Plus, nobody noticed that I'd had a drink last night, cos it didn't affect me!

Jo - dashing back out into field - hugs me dear - I can only do one if under lock and key and I have no means of buying any - which as my shops close I guess is like a restraining order for me. My drinking got alot worse when down on the mainland with OH cos of the shops and how much they are open.

Hugs me dear. Feeling for you right now.

Massive HUGE HUMUNGOUS fight with my supervisor this am - almost resulted in shouting across the lab. Thankfully someone was there watching - his body language is so aggressive -

Whilst I am normally carp - this am I thought OY MATE -don't start your cowploop with me.

Walked out and hiding in office/field - another meeting tomorrow to review how 'carp' I am.

Hey ho - thank god I didn't have my normal bottle of wine hangover.........
Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.

    Hi everyone

Congrats to those who have had an AF weekend.

AnnieD - so impressive, going to a party and not drinking must mean your resolve is strong!!

I was on the bench over the weekend and was supposed to get off it yesterday but failed.

I really do need to look up moderation in the dictionary - I'm sure 2 bottles of wine wouldn't cut it....perhaps over the weekend that would of been fine but I stayed at a girlfriends on Friday and the first glass went down so well I didn't want to stop.

Managed slightly better on Saturday (after spending all day on the sofa) and just had the 1 bottle in the house - which I drank but I didn't want to stop there so had another couple of cans of beer.

Yesterday my OH went off for a conference and I had no wine in the house but also nothing for dinner so I had to go to the shop. All the way to the shop I was thinking to myself, no don't get any wine etc but sure enough it hopped into my basket and then unscrewed itself and a glass found it's way into my hand - another bottle down! Argh!

OK, so I am still on 4 AFD and coming up to a bank holiday weekend with a girlfriend staying from Thursday to Sunday mmmmm but listen to me already with the excuses!!

I'll shut up now and get on with some work and concentrate on today being AF!!!!

    hugs to all
