Thank you Janebo & berniesmaster! I don't really want to sell, but I'm short on space at the moment and have nowhere to put it, plus any extra pennies would be useful right now! I've listed it on ebay so fingers crossed it sells for more than 99p

I get the Farrow & Ball paint from Homebase as my B&Q doesn't sell it either. I always try and get it on a 10% off day!

Thanks, have just checked Homebase store locator and found one around 10 miles away - will have a trip there soon so I can paint my dresser hopefully over half-term - do you just use a general undercoat and then a couple of coats of F&B on top?

    Thanks again

gingababe, i know just the feeling. being on the isle of wight we miss i miss out on so many fab deals. however hubby did say if i saw something really fantastic, he would rent a van and pop on ferry to collect. but it kinda makes something cheap work out expensive.

My fab ebay find was a £1000 dining table and 4 chairs. it was stunning. i picked it up for £9.99. ( i gave a tenner tho, lol) and it was a 10 min drive away. it seats 8 comfortably, 10-12 depending on the size of extra chairs. it isn't perfect. it is rustic as i say. it looked used by a family. and i love it. we later on saw someone on other side of island selling two matching chairs for £18. so for £28 i got an amazing deal i think.

Guys I am looking for a farmhouse kitchen table & chairs that I can shabby chic up!!! and some older styled wardrobes/armoires? Any ideas the ones on ebay are sooooo expensive & not a lot of charity shops have furniture! Checked the local bargain pages, any more tips?
    Thanks
    G

I'd check your local paper for details of forthcoming auctions. There are many which aren't all antiques but general goods with some nice old furniture. I bought a lovely oak bookcase for £30 at ours. That's where some of the antique dealers buy their stuff from. They aren't as scary as you think, quite exciting really! Watch out for sellers fes and VAT which is often added on. Many down here are held midweek but one auction house has an online catalogue and live bidding.

You should definitely go for that cupboard. It's not only gorgeous but a total bargain. Worth a bit of earache from your OH :rotfl:

    OK, I will!

I've also spotted this, one bid so far of £5... although I would probably prefer a cast iron bedstead (but may be good for a guest room?)... listen to me, we haven't even bought a house yet and I am already furnishing it!
