is it possible to trace the serial beggars are?

Who cares? If you are giving something away, you just want to give it.

I prefer people who email me saying

"I saw your add for X and if it's still available would be very pleased if you would consider me for it. I live in X and can collect it at your convience".

Then go on to say why you would love to have it i.e. new home, just starting out etc. and provide a contact number .

You'd be surprised at the amount of emails you get though saying "I want your XXXXXXX text me" or "i've seen your XXXXX on offer will you deliver it?"

    Errrr no!

    When's the housewarming?

I've given a few things away, i was surprised at the response of some people. The first time i was advertising threee household items, one girl said ' i'll take them all '.
I said she could have one, and she told me to shove it up my ar*e. Others have been polite but some have been and gone without a thank-you.
The organisers often remind users they are not suppose to sell stuff, but you still get people asking for things to take to the car boot. They have kicked some people off the site that were abusing peoples generosity.

Be polite in your response and remember your manners.

I personally give preference to people who write in proper sentences and with appropriate capital letters. I hate i instead of I.

Be patient, polite and able to collect whenever suitable for the person giving the item(s) away.

People who don't turn up or who expect me to put myself out for them are really irritating! However, I've met some really lovely people through freecycle and also had two items delivered when we couldn't fit them in our car.

Good luck, I'm sure you'll have your new house furnished in no time!

Couldnt agree more Ormus, the main Idea (did you see what i did there?) is to get rid of your unwanteds without landfill.
If someone else can make a fast buck then thats ok with me.

But the Wanted ads are getting silly on my freecycle.

    Wanted laptop
    Wanted large TV
    wanted white goods
    Wanted PS3 and games

I am thinking of placing a wanted ad myself.

Wanted, Cash, notes or coins, i really dont mind.

I think it's cheeky when people ask for something for free then sell it on eBay :D

I'm not grammar policing the net, it's just my preference.
I mentioned it so Bh would have the best chance of being chosen for something because there's plenty of other people on freecycle like me.
