Why don't you do what I did and join a different group, if there is one not to far away from you? It does mean that if I want anything I generally have to drive about 10 miles, but if it is something really useful I will.Anyone who lives within their means suffers from a lack of imagination:beer:

Got this from one of my local groups today...i know that this is a long shot, but maybe it'll help someone clear their shed or some living-room space!!!
as the title says i am looking for a baby gran piano, doesn't matter if it's out of tune( it can a be a regular size grand piano as well)
and the other item that i am after is an old style phone booth ( the big red ones made from iron cast or something similar to ir) again if you have one lying around and atracting dust ( doesn't matter if it's in a need of a few coatigs of red paint) just give me a shout and i can come to collect it on a fairly short notice....
The same person also asked if anyone wanted to swap their laptop for a PS2.
Yesterday somebody was begging for Metallica tickets... how's that keeping anything out of landfill??If I hadn't seen such riches, I could live with being poor...0 -

Was wondering what people think of this?
Someone on our freecycle group was offering a TV and DVD player. The ad said 'Please only reply if you genuinely need these, not if you intend to sell them on'.
Now I am being made redundant at the moment. We don't have a TV or DVD player and have always managed perfectly well being TV-free. I can't imagine how *anyone* can have a 'genuine need' of a TV and DVD player, except perhaps a housebound person. But I do have bills to pay and no job on ther horizon. So if I were to take them and sell them on, would my 'genuine need' to pay my gas bill or put food on the table be more valid than someone else's 'genuine need' for entertainment.
How do others feel about things being sold on?I am a Travel Agent My company’s ATOL/ABTA numbers are E7760/3970. MSE doesn't check my status as a Travel Agent, so you need to take my word for it. Atol numbers can be checked with the Civil Aviation Authority. I would prefer not to pass something on to someone who was just going to sell it. I'd rather give it to the charity shop.Do not allow the risk of failure to stop you trying!0

My view on this one varies/changes with mood - but mostly I prefer my stuff to go to someone who will use it themselves. However sometimes I just want stuff gone so am not that bothered but I would prefer that folk are honest with their intentions and indeed I often askHate and I do mean Hate my apple Mac Computer - wish I'd never bought the thing
