o2 Payments not being taken, any thoughts?

Options
Hi there.
In October I started an 18 month contrat with o2. Every month they send me my bill, telling me the date they'll be taking the payment out of my account, and it always says thank you for paying by direct debit, etc etc. However I was looking through my bank statements recently and they haven't taken ANY payments from my account????? I got the contract through mobiles.co.uk with 15 months 1/2 price line rental, which I have to send a copy of my billat various months and they then send a cheque to me for the discounted line rental. I've just sent the first copy of my bill to them, and they have confirmed that the cheque is on it's way to me as o2 have confirmed that all my payments are up to date.
I'm not sure whether to ring o2 and tell them, or to keep quiet and hope for the best!!! I'm an honest person, so I do feel quite naughty if I was not to tell them, but with things being a bit 'tight' lately with money would I be stupid to bring this error to their attention?? Or would they just notice soon enough anyway and ask me for it all at once? Anything like this happened to anyone else? Thanks in advance for any advice.xx.

  • It looks like it's their fault! If you have told O2 your bank details through Mobiles.co.uk and you haven't cancelled it, then you're not to blame. However, I wonder how it would affect you if you wanted an upgrade and then they discovered you'd been given 18 months free? I don't know what would happen then!

  • Thanks for your answer. They definately have the correct bank details, cos mobiles.co.uk put 1p into the account then take it back out to make sure it's correct. Very strange. KNowing my look I'll get a whopping huge bill at the end of the 18 months. My bf suggests putting the amount they should be taking away anyway each month, and kind of hope for the best, at least then I'll have the money if they do spot it!!
