Number Porting To O2 (cpw)

I purchased an O2 phone from CPW a few weeks ago. I now want to port my number from T-Mobile to this new(ish) contract. CPW customer services tell me this is not possible. It HAS to be done at point of sale. Is this true?? Surely if I have a PAC they will just instruct the number change.

If it is true, is there a way around it, please?

networks have no obilgation to accept a PAC code, O2/Voda often only accept Port at start of a contract, 3/Orange/T-Mob tend to accept them at any point. There can be exceptions to the rules but that has tended to be their policies

Yes, with most dealers, for O2 and Vodafone contracts PAC should be given at the point of sale.

Sorry, I don't think there is anyway you can keep your old number.
  • Have you tried calling O2 customer services directly and giving them your T-Mobile PAC code? Might be worth a try..

I was told in the O2 shop that I could port in within the first 2 weeks

There wont be any way to do it. Like a previous poster said, orange/tmob/3 will let you do it later on but with o2/voda cpw, it has to be done at point of sale.

    Hi,

I have posted this few times. Wondering if you could also answer this, so that I can be sure before I get a O2-CPW contract.

Does O2-CPW currenly allow Simplyfone numbers as part of inclusive minutes?. I know O2-Direct does.

Is there a free number to contact O2-CPW customer service?. Everytime I call them on the 0870 number there is a long wait time. O2-Direct has a free number 100 from handset.

If I make a call on Monday, how long does it take to appear in the online itemised-billing?. In my current O2-Direct it appears Wednesday(2 days after).

    Thanks,
    Raj

Mine wasn't done at point of sale. I bought from coolnewmobile, who don't have the ability to port to O2, so after receiving the phone I applied through the O2 website to port a number from Virgin PAYG. They were a bit slow, it took 2 weeks and several emails and phone calls, but there was never any indication that it wasn't usually possible. The customer service reps were a bit rubbish and kept saying to wait another day or two and I should get a confirmation text message but that it was possible and would be done. It was finally ported on Monday (27th March 2006), 2 weeks after first requesting it.
