o2 iPhone Retentions Thread

Hello All

Having been an original iPhone owner since launch day (and having resisted the early 3G upgrade offer hoping for something cheaper...) I am now eligible for upgrade.

Spoke to o2 Retentions yesterday, having made the appropriate noises re: closing my account, but was unable to negotiate ANYTHING better than the standard deals offered to new customers - ie

iPhone 8GB free on 24 mth contract @ £35
iPhone 16GB free on 24 mth contract @ £45

Am aware that the next gen iPhone is likely to be announced this summer. Do you think it's worth holding out? Has anyone negotiated a better deal? Is there a cheaper monthly rate going for us out-of-contract iPhone owners?

Help appreciated.

PLEASE, PLEASE do not use this thread to discuss the relative merits & costs of iPhones as compared to other makes. We know. ;)

  • I don't think there is a new iPhone coming out any time soon. As far as I'm aware, it's only a major firmware update to give some new applications and features.

No, no and no. Apple sets the prices.

i dont have an iphone, but can you not go onto one of the sim-only tariffs (inc unlimited data) now that you are out of contract?
